Another scoop for BDTW.com!

This has completely changed my perspective on life

Would have been better if listed as DE, people’s heads would have exploded

I'll take it but I'd much rather him being listed in the transfer portal.

He's out of position at BUCK, but he's absolutely a guy who could put on 15 pounds and become an all-conference performer at the 5-tech spot vacated by String. Our depth is pretty damn young, so we're going to need a big year from Benning.GaryFromTeenMom said:I'll take it but I'd much rather him being listed in the transfer portal.

I don’t know about all-conference. He doesn’t make enough impact plays, but he could easily put on 10-15 pounds.GreenRiverGatorz said:

Not betting on it. Waited 2 season for him to put it togetherGreenRiverGatorz said:

He's not going to be all conference. He is going be a very valuable contributor at a position where we are talented but crazy young.GreenRiverGatorz said:

He's an asset. -
Benning has gotten very good at manning his space and making the tackles when they come to him (this was a weakness for him when he first started at UW). He has not been great at pressuring the QB from the buck position. This move should play yo his strengths and give time to our younger Bucks who are more explosive

Tryon and Ngata > Potato at killing QB's

Bowman, Zion, and Latu too. Hopefully they step up. I think they will.Swaye said:Tryon and Ngata > Potato at killing QB's

So assume Potoae and Levi at the two "DL" spots, with Tryon and likely Bowman at BUCK and SAM respectively. Wellington and Manu (yikes)/Beavers (please) at ILB, and that leaves only one open starting spot in the front seven - nose tackle. That position has been a strength for us since, honestly, 2009 when Ta'amu first emerged as an impact player (though counting 2015 in that streak might be generous).
So who's next, Tuli or Taimani? -
I'd be surprised if Tuli gets beat out.GreenRiverGatorz said:So assume Potoae and Levi at the two "DL" spots, with Tryon and likely Bowman at BUCK and SAM respectively. I'm guessing Tuli but both plus a true frosh, probably Bandes, play a lot.GreenRiverGatorz said:So assume Potoae and Levi at the two "DL" spots, with Tryon and likely Bowman at BUCK and SAM respectively. I no longer think inside lb is as grim as it feels. Wellington and Beavers are good and if either can stay healthy then the other spot has four promising, albeit young and unproven, candidates in Tafisi, Sirmon, Hammer, and Calvert. My guess is we still have some injury issues but that both Heimuli and Calvert burn redshirts and play quality minutes and the position group as a whole does a solid job. -
NT isn't going to be a starting position for us.GreenRiverGatorz said:So assume Potoae and Levi at the two "DL" spots, with Tryon and likely Bowman at BUCK and SAM respectively. If we had a 11 man depth chart I think it would look like this:
DL:Benning, Levi
OLB: Bowman, Ngata/Tryon
ILB: Wellington, Beavers
ICB: Bryant, molden
CB: Hampton, Taylor
S: McKinney -
Someone will for sure. That said, I bet we have to watch Manu rotate in.WilburHooksHands said:

I thought Beavers really fucked up his leg in the Rose Bowl. I like him as a player, but I doubt he's ready to go and wouldn't trust his ability to stay on the field.
Same with Wellington. It's not hard to imagine a world where both guys are out at the same time. Some freshman are going to seriously need to be game ready. Fucking Kaho would be starting right now and one big year away from getting drafted high. -

He stinks. Sorry if this is news.HillsboroDuck said:
Perhaps the position change will be good for him and fuck, I hope so because I’ve had about enough of him getting washed out my every offensive tackle in the world (or so it seems).
Interesting how the pass rush looked much better with Tryon gobbling snaps from him.
Put him inside and fatten him up a bit and see if it changes, again...I hope it does. -
Shocking news. Can't believe he's being demoted to stuff the run.
-
Potoae just hasn't found the right position in this defense. He'd be a natural as an edge setting/run stopping end in a 4-3 and would have plus athletic ability there.GaryFromTeenMom said:

It's weird he's never learned to rush the QB better as a standing olb, but maybe he'll do better at it from further inside. I think the string role might suit him well.
