Jalen McMillan, 2020 4* WR, Fresno (San Joaquin), CA (COMMITTED!)

McMillan visits soon. We will see if ND can make a move. He’s a tremendous fit. My thought is ND could fill up before he decides unless they miss on some guys they feel good about early. McMillan plans on taking his time. We’ll see if his visit changes anything but I think he’s a long way from deciding. Great kid personality-wise, as well as physically. Saw him yesterday quickly at the Adidas event.dirtysouwfdawg said:

Poaster from ND site:
The board is following what Tom/Kevin are saying that ND lead for the kid. WASH is starting to be a pain in the ASS when recruiting against ND! -
Non Loy ND mod comes back with:
Personally, I haven't put a Crystal Ball pick in for Notre Dame. And I haven't predicted him to Notre Dame through any of my comments on him.
That said, I do know that Notre Dame feels good about where they stand with him and I do think the Irish have a good shot at landing him. I'd say just wait until he visits - obviously that's going to tell us a lot more than we (or Jalen for that matter) know right now.
Washington, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, and others will get a close look from Jalen, no doubt. But he's a perfect fit for Notre Dame and people around him are super high on Notre Dame, including his head coach. It's very early.
I like the bit about the head coach. I feel like I’ve seen it somewhere before. -
Poaster from ND board upon learning Huffman flipped CB to UW:
The first thing the staff should do every year is compile a list of UW recruiting targets and immediately strike every player off of our list. It would save us time, money, disappointment. -
I enjoy this take from Loy. Especially the part where he’s a tremendous fit but ND could fill up soon.insinceredawg said:

Other ND mod says they’re targeting 4 WR. McMillan is the number #30 overall prospect by 247. But I’m sure they could run out of room before he could commit. -
Loy has updated his CB to cloudy:
I'm cloudy on McMillan. He really, really likes Notre Dame. The Irish are going to make a strong push in April when he visits. There is also a lot pulling him toward Washington as well. Notre Dame, in talking with him, was clearly the offer that was most meaningful as he was coming up. I think it's much closer now than before. We'll see how things play out. One visit to South Bend could be huge. April will be key. The Irish need him on campus early and then again in the fall. Long way to go. -
Does he know South Bend is in Indiana?DoogCourics said:Loy has updated his CB to cloudy:

Biggins report from the Adidas West Coast Invitational...
Despite playing with Seattle-based FSP Blue Chip, the Northern California star receiver didn’t skip a beat and was consistently getting open down field. McMillan is a smooth route runner that sets up his defenders nicely to break free and has the top-end speed to get a couple yards of separation. His hand-eye coordination was superb, making a number of impressive catches in the end zone while fighting off contact. He scored both of FSP’s touchdowns in the championship game and is only scratching the surface of how good we think he can in a few years when he gains size and strength after spending time in a college strength program. Washington, Oregon and Notre Dame have been generating the most buzz for the four-star prospect from Fresno (Calif.) San Joaquin Memorial. -
That’s probably the smartest thing ever said on the Domer boardDoogCourics said:Poaster from ND board upon learning Huffman flipped CB to UW:

Angulo with the CB in for Washington.

Boner, boner, Bonner.

Loved this comment from under Loy's free article today (which Loy specifically doesn't mention UW in once, such salt). Now I know everyone is going to be down on our chances because Fresno and ND haven't been so kind. But I really think if we sell him on the idea of bulking up and playing rover he'll come to ND
-
Up next, McMillan will start taking some visits and try to get closer to a decision. He’ll narrow down his recruitment and then take official visits. Big picture, don’t look for a commitment any time soon.HillsboroDuck said:Loved this comment from under Loy's free article today (which Loy specifically doesn't mention UW in once, such salt).

"I'll come out with a top five or top four. Those are the schools I'll visit. I'm thinking that will come out in May or maybe later in August,” said McMillan. “I'll visit schools in the spring, Notre Dame for the spring game. I want to visit Ohio State, USC, some others.
LOL some others. -

Nice. Looks like Jalen is going to be ballin with FSP going forward. -
“I really loved Washington and I think I would fit in really well there. They have a bunch of great guys and I was really comfortable there. The city is great, the fan base is great and it’s a great place in general. The offense is amazing and I think I could do big things there.”RDR said: -

By our “offense is amazing,” I believe he’s manifesting UW’s 2021 offense in referring to Sam Huard and Sam Adams and Johnny Wilson and JT at TE, no?Dennis_DeYoung said:

Also, I largely attribute “the fanbase is great” comment to the last pod w/ Coker, Dennis, and Teq imploring all of us to not only tweet at 16-year-old grown-ass men but 16-year-old prospective UW softball players, as well. Evidently, the twats are working on these kids.

ND poasters respect us, but also have beaten puppy syndrome:
“While I agree with you in that there is a "Long way to go", it's never good when you cloudy and we recruit west coast kids against WASH!”
“McMillan is one you want to leg it out for. The Spring Game is the reason not to abandon hope here. Still, when UW locks in on someone, it's tough to shake them loose. Between Johnson, Humphreys, and Redding, there's still some top names to fall back on at WR, but Jalen is closer to the front of the pack than he is to the middle or back. Hearing that UW has locked in is disappointing.”
“You have to understand the history of us recruiting West Coast kids against the Huskies. It's been futile at best.”
“To think: what would your reaction be a couple years ago if someone told you that ND would go 22-3 over two years and basically have no chance recruiting against Washington for California kids. Not USC. Washington.”
Hey Notre Dame:
-
Dude ND has more respect for us that USC.... what a time to be a doog. Praise our lord and savior pete

McMillan has already visited Oregon and Washington and both NW programs are making a strong push.
“My plan is after I cut my list to 5-6, I can start thinking about some of my official visits. I’ll take those during the season and then I’m planning to commit on December 7, which is my birthday.” -

If crystal balls are coming in, I'm guessing he could be a kid who says hes going to wait til December to commit but will commit much sooner than that., even if it's silent Hemuli styleDoogCourics said:
