2016, with John Ross and Dante Pettis, Jake throws for 8.8 yards per pass good for 11th in the nation.
That falls to 8.1 as a junior in 2017 and 8.2 in 2018.
Earlier in this thread you alluded to all-time UW records which is obviously an awful comparison for two reasons:
1. Jake had more opportunities to rack up stats starting for all four years in an era of 12 regular season games + CCGs + bowl games for everyone.
2. CFB changed dramatically over the last 18 years in both tempo (more plays per game) and complexity of passing offenses.
The top-10 in any program's QB stats record books are dominated by post-2000 players.
A meaningful comparison is to his peers. 2018, as a senior, he was 23rd in the nation in yards per pass and 45th in passer rating despite playing for an elite team.
Those are not elite QB numbers. So yes, from a a statistical standpoint he is decent at best. Then you actually watch him play and see his lack of arm strength, accuracy, anticipation, vision, and its obvious why he won't have an NFL career.

Freshman Drew Lock was worse than Browning. He had a 49 completion percentage and 4 TDs to 8 INTs. He fucking sucked. He still kinda does sometimes, but unlike Jake, he showed year to year improvement and developed into a decent player. Freshman Jake = Senior Jake. Hackenberg is one of the worst QBs I've ever watched. No need to go into detail there.
No one can convince me that Mitch Leidner was a real human being and not just a large wicker man.
Brissett was kind actually of decent. Better than Jake for sure. Didn't have a lot of talent around him on offense though. And his defense was just aight.
Wes Lunt was trash.
John O'Korn and Wilton Speight were both pretty bad. This team with Speight was basically us last year except they ran the ball. Still didn't get anywhere.
Patrick Towles: see Mitch Leidner.
Brian Lewerke: Very similar player to Browning actually. Eerily so.
Shea Patterson: Probably a little better than Browning, but Michigan had a tougher schedule.
Nick Fitzgerald is a tight end, not a quarterback.
Miami doesn't have any quarterbacks. Stop lying.
Nate Stanley. Maybe a little bit better than Browning? Iowa doesn't have any WRs on their roster to it's kind of hard to tell.

I detecting some circular logic here: Browning sucks because, despite his stats, the eye test tells you he's not a legitimate NFL prospect. But other NFL draftees/signees, who had better defenses than Browning but won less, actually sucked equally or more? What is the bar for not sucking?
