For US government they would show their vacations photos of their trips to Moscow or other socialist paradises. This was at the height of the cold war. The you really can't travel to these places they are our enemy time.
Since they were U.S, government classes I'll tell you how much I learned about our government. Not a damn thing. It was all about the wonders of communism and socialism and some other ism's. A lot of these shitheads push their own views and agendas on children. I know one who had a parent complain to an administrator for spewing his own leftist views on middle school kids. Most majored in education because it’s less rigorous. Teachers tell me they don’t get paid time off because they get paid only for 180 days. So they either are dishonest or have a part time job. I say they are dishonest. They don’t have to compete, schools don’t have to compete. Any that actually have passion get the life sucked out of them by shitty administrators and even shittier parents. Which leads to mediocrity and doing the minimum. Which is what most teachers do. I have immeadite family members who are teachers or work in the school. An honest assessment of teachers would recognize that most of them are pretty damn dedicated and that they work plenty hard. Many are very good and a few are excellent. The amount of dead weight in the profession probably is not markedly different than the amount of dead weight in other organizations. The so called “indoctrination” is an overblown, right wing fever dream. And no, Mike, no one is saying teachers should become rich from teaching.
And teachers, like other humans, sometimes think they have it much worse than they really do. But one thing they’re clearly not imagining, and that’s been made plain today, is the disrespect and contempt many of the so called “conservatives” of this country have for them. -

I have 3 kids in public schools and the indoctrination is real. There is a left wing agenda and it is pushed vigorously by the teachers and it started in Elementary school. From English teachers who feel the need to share their opinions on gay marriage to history teachers who feel compelled to inform the class about how immoral Republicans are.
