Good paying jobs update

"After much thought and deliberation, we’ve decided not to move forward with our plans to build a headquarters for Amazon in Long Island City, Queens," the Seattle-based Amazon said in the release.
"For Amazon, the commitment to build a new headquarters requires positive, collaborative relationships with state and local elected officials who will be supportive over the long-term. While polls show that 70% of New Yorkers support our plans and investment, a number of state and local politicians have made it clear that they oppose our presence and will not work with us to build the type of relationships that are required to go forward with the project we and many others envisioned in Long Island City," the statement read
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio had previously touted the deal's benefits, which include a pledge from Amazon to create 25,000 jobs, paying an average of $150,000 per year in exchange for a slew of city and state tax breaks and subsidies worth up to $3 billion.

I wonder how long before twitter bans that account

Hello, Toronto or Austin.
Fucking AOC. Dipshit.
-
Hello Denver!! Hello KC!! Better places anyway.

Florida and Texas are praising her like you praise Haden.
3 Billion in tax benefits is a pretty good trade off for an estimated 27 billion in wealth added to the local economy. Not smart considering the state is in the middle of a budget problem. -
Yeah, but those are those dirty private sector jobs. In AOC's utopia everyone works for the state.greenblood said:Florida and Texas are praising her like you praise Haden.

As I tweeted this morning, Race stated importantly, AOC is advocating the government taking everything over to provide living wage jobs with government investment
Yet she opposed this.
Because its a private corp
Don't say they want REAL socialism including all means of production
That comes out in Version 6 -
Yeah you guys aren't obsessed and scared.

Fuck you Hondo. This is a news story. It's being covered by nearly every news outlet. This is news and politics board where people discuss those very same things. Now I realize that for you this is a space for you to workout all the issues you have because your dad hated you but for most of us here, we're here to discuss the news and current events.2001400ex said:Yeah you guys aren't obsessed and scared.

Let the irony sink it: AOC wants to raise taxes on the wealthy to fund her utopian socialist agenda, but is also against wealthy people generating taxable income.
Once her constituents figure it out, they might realize that they would have been better off if AOC had stayed tending bar.
-
Her supporters will never make that connection. They are the very same dumbfucks who think a large tax refund check = a tax cut.
-
I was discussing this with my wife and she goes - you mean the socialist? Her and Bernie she said shaking her head. When has AOC ever got anyone a job?
Guess I'll have company in the re education camp. My wife hates Trump and most GOP too. But she can spot a scam a mile away -
Ok since you asked. Both sides are fucktarded. There was a large contingent of people in the neighborhood that didn't want Amazon to take over their neighborhood. There is plusses and minuses to Amazon coming in. For many current residents, they'll get priced out by high rents and higher costs for services.RaceBannon said:You're right we aren't

I do have a hard time with politicians who support this based on the $3 billion in tax breaks. One local politician said that they could use that money for other shit than subsidizing Amazon, which is fucktarded. I'm heading Damoan screaming that a cut in taxes isn't a subsidy. And he's right. And it's also fucktarded because the additional side taxes that come in as a result of 25,000 new high paying jobs.
And AOCs comments are fucktarded, celebrating the "win" of sticking it to a large corporation.
That being said, AOC is still winning for free pub (following Trump's model of saying stupid shit) and some of you are freaking out about her comments. -
Both sides are doing it?
Thanks for hopping on with that mealy mouthed pile of shit -
Nobody is freaking out over her comments. The only person I've seen "freak-out" over something she said was dumbfuck who claimed her FAQ was photoshopped all because he "freaked out" over how fucking stupid she sounded.2001400ex said:

Fuck off

Trump said he is glad AOC and her Green New Deal has knocked the witch hunt of his administration off the front page
Stupid Trump still thinks there are newspapers -
Fuck the hell off Hondo. You ruin every fucking conversation. Ever notice that?

No I'm saying there's a large contingent of the population in that community that didn't want Amazon there. Does it piss you off that politicians listened to their constituents now?RaceBannon said:Both sides are doing it?

How many people have you heard bitching about Amazon's take over of Seattle? I've heard a lot. Some people are glad Amazon is there, some hate it. -
The article said it had 70% support. Nothing ever gets 100%
You're not saying anything. That's the point el oh el read for comprehension you missed the context -
When the totality of your economic contribution is a dept. of education interest statement, and a w2 from waitressing.... you tend to think taxing the top will fix "the economy stupid" with an endless feedback loop of revenue.Dude61 said:Let the irony sink it: AOC wants to raise taxes on the wealthy to fund her utopian socialist agenda, but is also against wealthy people generating taxable income.

Own a business or actually produce something for the marketplace and you realize how her/these policies will continue to alienate the have-nots when the haves run elsewhere.

People getting welfare is bad. Corporations getting welfare is good. Just do whatever the rich want, it’ll trickle down.

There would have been 125,000 people getting high paying jobs which keeps them off welfare. Its a legit argument whether tax breaks are worth it for that but its an argument I would expect from Damone not AOC who wants a living wage for all through government investment.
Isn't that what this was? -
I'm pretty sure it's the dem socialists who want to pick winners and losers in the economy. Free market advocates aren't in favor of corporate subsidy no matter how many times the socialists repeat the lie.allpurpleallgold said:People getting welfare is bad. Guaranteeing 25,000 jobs over 10 years now creates 125,000 jobs. It’ll trickle down, just give them whatever they want.RaceBannon said:

Sounds like my news source is lying to me. The 125,000 is sourced in the OP and confirmed by the dem leaders in NY. Former dem leaders I should say.allpurpleallgold said:
