I met Mike Lude at a booster event in Portland, as well as Don James briefly. I was heading to my freshman year at UW and Mike very enthusiastically and generously invited me to come by his office when I got to campus, which I did. He didn't know me, or my Dad, but met with 18 year old freshman me in his office (overlooking the old sunken tennis courts as I recall) and asked how he could help me. Struck me as energetic and driven. And as I recall, that was right around the time of the Apple Cup mace incident. Good times!

Hedges is the last AD to make any kind of a move similar to SC getting Riley. -

Woodward getting Petersen was close to the equivalent of Hedges getting Rick. The disappointing results notwithstanding.haie said:

Woodward actually was okay. Got the stadium built. Oversaw st Haden blessing this university.
