I'm way late to the party but my take is I'm not convinced the refs rig the games, but it's not inconceivable either. At any rate, these guys make really good money (like way into the six digits - I think Donaghy was making 250 thousand orsomething). Shit like this just shouldn't happen.
It's so pathetic that Either TNT or ESPN has Steve Javie as there in-game consultant guy. That guy was a f****** idiot as a ref, t'd people up over his owm ego being hurt, and was a sarcastic shithead. This is the guy a network shows as a consultant?
