you are right on weak contact, you rarely see a 14.7% ld rate for a pitcher.
A .179 babip is not sustainable though, I don't care who you are.
His xFIP's in his best years were mid fours when his era was mid 3's, so maybe he's just a pitcher who outpitches his peripherals
