Free money. $100mil just to show up, play a light schedule with an easy tourney format, and get paid whether you play well or not.
I dont blame anyone for taking it. Just don't be fags about it.
I saw someone (Freddie, or JT maybe) commenting about "growing the game", and calling bullshit...paraphrasing, "Just say it's about the money, because that's what it's about".
True competitors don't play "for the money" (I know, the money is NICE), they play to be the best, and to do that you have to compete against the best, and fucking grind it, every week.
The greatest golf-watching memories / moments I have were majors and Ryder / President's Cup. When "the Field" gets appearance money (LARGE), it lets the air out of the pressure-balloon, for me, and for them, I'm sure. From what I've seen, they party like rock stars on the plane, even the guys that finished +10...Why grind when you cash every week?
John Daly can't get into LIV (he begged Norman), but he will be treated as "royalty" in GB as long as he lives because he won The Open, 30-whatever years ago. IMO, history will judge them harshly, if at all.

If nothing else, this should get the Tour to get its shit together. I'm guessing they won't though. Playoffs should be for top 8 or 16 and do matchplay from there. And for gods sake can we get a playoff event at a real course for us architecture snobs? Eastlake and TPC Southwind fucking suck. Willing to LIPO out Biden's Wilmington Country Club, but I bet it sucks too.

Eastlake is part of the tour outreach. I don't see it moving anytime soon
The judge talks some shit in the anti trust case. No immediate need but the trial will continue
“If LIV Golf is elite golf’s future, what do [the players] care about the dust-collecting trophies of a bygone era?” Freeman wrote in her opinion.
In the central element of the motion, Freeman ruled that the players did not prove that they would suffer “irreparable harm” if they weren’t allowed to play this week.
In fact, Freeman found that “superstar” status was “even more available to [the suspended players] in LIV Golf’s 'extremely fan-friendly' league.”
The Women's Amateur is at Chambers Bay right now. That tells me the US Open is coming back sometime
Could be. It should get another one. '28 and '29 are the only ones open until the late 30's though. I suspect that LACC is getting a trial run, and if it goes well (which all indications are that it's going to be awesome), they probably take one of those slots.
Oakmont and Shinnecock are easily the best two normal rotation sites and it's not close. Pebble needs a renovation badly, it's very dated and very overrated. Has 4 of them scheduled in the future. Hard to justify a renovation when you have a full tee sheet at $600/round.
Riviera is my favorite course in the whole country, would love to see one there again sometime. Just don't go back to Torrey ever again and I'm happy.

Rory and Hovland were 12 under Saturday
The Cams were 15 under Sunday
Completely on brand
LIV has the two biggest gamblers now
And Trump never forgets
Bedminster hosting LIV not the PGA championship
Using 9 11 families is low rent but this is a blood fued
Saudis are at 650 million for a handful of players
Doesn't seem sustainable
LIPO

I like the PGA Tour in this one
I wondered if some of the money being thrown around is real
The trial goes on
LIV won't let a player play opposite a LIV event

The whole neighborhood was redeveloped
I agree it's a blah course
