From the Beatles to the Eagles the system was built to "overrate" bands to the immense profit of the labels and the band. It was a closed system that loved the super band as a known commodity that woyld sell millions of units on release day. Airplay was dominated by the same system.
MTV cracked the foundation and the internet killed it off
But the first 4 Zeppelin albums were not overrated because Page and Bonham were legit. Plant was overrated
