Chico was a good player on a loaded team and was never the same after his 2017 injury in Boulder.

He single handedly (I guess KB's play was impactful too) ended the Sun Doovil streak.

Does DeBoer realize he isn't coaching at Fresno St anymore?

Doesn't look like it the way they are recruiting.
We have, what 3-4 players in this class? Plus the new transfer portal rules change the gayme. lipo

Had some free time and found some film of Taulapapa. His running style kinda reminds me of McGrew, but he is bigger.

    Some highlights from 2019

Virginia's win over Miami in 2021, he has some good runs

The McGrew comp is pretty spot on.

The guy is pretty slow but he can break tackles and he gets to the hole. He works in a spread type system and knows what he's supposed to do.

Sounds like we got Will Nixon, a 5'10" 180 lb WR transfer from Nebraska. In 2 years for the Cornhuskers, Will racked up 5 yards on 1 reception and had 1 season ending injury.

Havent heard yet if he'll be playing the Chico role

DeBoer must really love 5-10/180 WRs.

Here is my glass half full take. Hopefully these "off the radar guys" like Rogers and Reynolds are the kids that DeBoer and staff evaluated while at Fresno, praying that they could keep the P12 from noticing. The kind of kids that get swooped away late in the cycle as the big schools filled out their roster. Kevin King and Azeem Victor were both MW bound until late P12 offers. Hopefully these are players like that. We always wonder how so many good/great players slip through the P12 and end up starring at MW schools. If DeBoer wants to claim all the kids he was hoping to claim at Fresno, hoping that bigger schools would continue to be blind to them, then I'm okay with it for his first full class. As long as he incrementally steps up his recruiting as time goes by. I don't know, I want to be positive because Jimmy and his staff are gone. I'll wait until I see results on the field before I go full on dark.

Measured and rational takes are for dickheads. Not HH material. If I gave two fucks anymore I would be completely freaking out.
I’m ashamed I wrote that. It was a moment of weakness for me. This team and program and coaching staff are DOOMED!!! I’ll be better. I promise.

Definitely a hybrid role and he's probably 5'10" 195-200 lbs now.

Had an okay offer list out of high school

    https://247sports.com/Recruitment/William-Nixon-119332/RecruitInterests/

Including Penn State, ND, Purdue, and some others.

My guess is our WR coach (from Purdue) knows the player and thinks he can play.

I don't fault a player for fleeing the dumpster fire that is cornhusker football.

He played RB in HS and that may be a more natural position for him. Given that we've already secured 2 RB transfers, I'm guessing he's our 3rd

    Nebraska, 3-9 = “dumpster fire”
    Washington, 4-8 = ????????

Nebraska was able to win their nonconference games.

They didn’t lose to a FCS school at home.

    Moving on up?

I don't think you're understanding the situation there with Frost, but then again I don't expect you to understand much.

We have 3 healthy scholarship RB's in spring practice right now. This is clearly a depth fill, might as well use the scholarship they left open for Connerly

I don’t get it, though. Why are you taking running backs just because you have guys who are temporarily injured? Who are, in theory, better players to begin with? Get some fucking lineman. Get some fucking linebackers and defensive ends.

I’d guess we see a few RBs transfer after spring. Maybe they aren’t playing because they don’t want to get hurt. Finish the quarter and then transfer out.

The only one who didn't suck graduated. We whiffed hardcore at that position for years.

I don't get the doogs who liked Cam Davis. He looked slow against fucking Arizona and Stanford's d.

Berry and Megwa aren't a fit in the new offense. Sunday hasn't played but is probably a bust

These coaches seem pretty straight forward. “Hey, how does rushing for 700 yards and catching 400 yards of passes sound? Not good? Okay, well it might be time for you to finish your course work and leave.” Hence, no RBs to compete in spring.

Yeah, I've kinda wondered if Cam Davis and Dick Newton are just finishing up school and have already told the coaches they are leaving. Same could be true for Berry and Megwa.
