Eklund says possibly 2 commits and both are off the radar
-
Oh boy … can’t wait to see who they are if off the radar
Getting “lightly regarded” commits early isn’t building momentum -
Let’s confirm if they suck or not prior to hating them. Hardcore husky does this the right way.Tequilla said:Oh boy … can’t wait to see who they are if off the radar

At least the first known is a JAG RB transfer

Probably better than any RB currently on rosterTequilla said:At least the first known is a JAG RB transfer

He actually had pretty good numbers and was a team captain for Virginia, although he will likely be a situational RB.
Clearly DeBoner absolutely despises #thestable -
We have 3 healthy scholarship RB's in spring practice right now. This is clearly a depth fill, might as well use the scholarship they left open for Connerly

Dude is like 25 years old

Apparently he speaks Hawaiian and Spanish. Will he be able to pick up English? -
Which can be a good thing. Lots of 25 year olds have a better work ethic than younger guys.bananasnblondes said:Dude is like 25 years old

Had some free time and found some film of Taulapapa. His running style kinda reminds me of McGrew, but he is bigger.
Some highlights from 2019https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=njJF-6LEXAw
Virginia's win over Miami in 2021, he has some good runshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DCJxY7Bta-A

He was also voted a team captain last year, so he probably has some quality of leadership that none of our offensive skill positions have.HairyBallsDawg said:

From the UVa/Miami game, he seems to have better vision than anyone currently on the roster. Guess we'll see how he does behind this OL -

Does DeBoer realize he isn't coaching at Fresno St anymore?

Doesn't look like it the way they are recruiting.NEsnake12 said:Does DeBoer realize he isn't coaching at Fresno St anymore?

Slot players at that size with speed have been successful before …
But with this being the 2nd recruit of the class, taking an under the radar type off the typical recruiting focused areas suggests this player is at the top of their board (either because of talent or because everybody ahead of him said thanks but no thanks) …
Given his highlights basically showcase straight line speed only …
Let’s just say DeBoer isn’t helping to shed the concerns about recruiting at the P5 level -
What are you hearing about recruiting? Anything positive? What is going on with Montlake Futures is there any chance we become legit players with NIL?sonics1993 said:

Here is my glass half full take. Hopefully these "off the radar guys" like Rogers and Reynolds are the kids that DeBoer and staff evaluated while at Fresno, praying that they could keep the P12 from noticing. The kind of kids that get swooped away late in the cycle as the big schools filled out their roster. Kevin King and Azeem Victor were both MW bound until late P12 offers. Hopefully these are players like that. We always wonder how so many good/great players slip through the P12 and end up starring at MW schools. If DeBoer wants to claim all the kids he was hoping to claim at Fresno, hoping that bigger schools would continue to be blind to them, then I'm okay with it for his first full class. As long as he incrementally steps up his recruiting as time goes by. I don't know, I want to be positive because Jimmy and his staff are gone. I'll wait until I see results on the field before I go full on dark.

One of the 247 analysts already said Reynolds will fit the "Chico McClatcher role"
Has a shittier player ever been as immortalized as Charlie McCutchins? -

Chico career stats. What a joke. Can't wait for this kid to give us 1 catch a game if he's the next Chico.

The comparison is because he’s short.
I’ve also seen our UVA RB compared to every Polynesian running back that’s ever existed.
But seriously, he’s the next Roy Helu. -

Kim is now comparing him to Jaydon Mickens and Marvin Hall.
Only one left is Jordin Polk
