water is wet, and the sharks are for real. For all the talk a couple years ago about how their cupboard was bare and their window had closed, their young homegrown guys have been awesome and the older vets are playing like this is their year.
This team does not suck. The rebuild is ahead of schedule.
I think the Mariners win 85-90 games this year and 3-5 games above .500 after April.
Definitely didn't see Minnesota winning that series ... Colorado is young and will be good for a while. They'll figure it out going forward.
I think the Avs lose to Chicago regardless, but at least it was a good learning experience. They really need more quality defensemen to compete for the title.
Most important thing for young teams is getting into the playoffs and getting as much experience as possible. It's such a different game than the regular season and learning what you can/can't get away with is a huge part of playoff hockey.
The good news for the Avs is that they have a lot of talent ... they could very easily turn some of that talent around into high end defensive player if they see fit.
Everybody has talked about the Canucks getting blown up (and rightfully so) ...
Don't be shocked if San Jose isn't blown up at this point ... could be interesting to watch.
Boston got embarrassed in a 0-3 comeback by the flyers and still won a cup a few years later (maybe even the next year). Sharks lost to the cup champions from 2 years ago. whatever.

I'll care when Seattle gets a team, though. It's fun to watch.
Thank you offseason hockey superiority guy
