I’ll be visiting Oahu for the first time in February. What are some great restaurants, bars, lesser known attractions, etc. worth seeing for a first timer? I’ll be staying in Waikiki and will have a rental car. Since I will only be there for a few days before heading off to another island, I am trying to avoid tours and long time sucking events, so I’ll be skipping luaus, snorkeling, Dole Plantation, and Pearl Harbor.
My first full day I plan on driving counterclockwise around the island and visit Hanauma Bay, Lanikai Beach, Kailua, and the north shore. Any cool spots along this route would be appreciated too.

Drive over to Kailua. Kailua Beach is nice and Lani Kai beach is even better but go early. Parking is limited. North shore is worth a day as well.
There's a good night market with lots and food stalls (if it's running) in Kailua as well. Island Snow for the coldest shave ice in town.

Sitting on the bridge of the Missouri over looking the Arizona is pretty special

Not seeing the Pearl Harbor Memorial is a huge mistake. Don't be a dumbass.

Also there are coastal artillery batteries there (I forget where I was there decades ago). Nice hikes to get up to them and killer views.
