TLDR: this is like a leaking dike about to burst, and instead of evacuating the town UW brought the Dutch national softball team to stop it.
Utah announced this same thing like a month ago, I’m sure others have as well. In Oregon the president of the state senate is going to pass a new bill that will make the universities pay royalties for jersey sales with the number of the current player, regardless of name. It will also allow student athletes to do consulting work and basically have agents. He said the president of Oregon State groveled and the ADs of both schools asked him to water down the original and still player friendly NIL bill until they could get their shit in order.
What the fuck is the NCAA going to do? Nothing, they want out of football if they’re not getting paid. That old cunt who is head of the infractions committee has been shouting it from the rooftops, give us college football playoff money and we’ll create a separate NCAA just for football or we’re out. Yeah lady, the university presidents are paying more than ever for coaches and facilities and they want your greedy, arthritic hands in it when you already are pushing your luck with milking the shit out of the teats of March Madness for little return.
Caption: aforementioned old greedbag and her husband, who is waiting for her to die so he can get some viagra and bang hookers. She’s the head of the infractions committee, and has been on the Knight Commission since it was created. The hag is also a consultant on how to improve university shit, and she was recently in Oregon as they hired the company to evaluate U of O.
Oregon had players use their social media to promote an auction. It was dubbed as collaboration between Phil’s slush fund where Tinker Hatfield donated 100 Oregon Jordan 8s and StockX (collector marketplace, for the olds) took possession of them and accepted bids. Average sales price was something like ~$5k but kept hush-hush, with all the proceeds to be split up evenly between the players. They never announced the actual total, but some sizes had ridiculous $60,000 bids and supposedly StockX has verification to prevent troll bids.
They’re testing the waters. No one gives a fuck if the third string LG tweeted to his 240 followers to go bid, it’s like me telling people they should try Starbucks coffee and then asking for 1% of revenue.

Has she posted anymore mediocre ass shots? Her in a bikini while vacationing? I don’t really want to see them but they are better than pretty much anything else she posts. So, are there any more?

Oregon has moved on to Air B&B rentals designed in a players’ likeness, auction sales to facilitate money to players, added promotional opportunities. But at UW, you get a cut of your Jersey sales! Sweet!!
While big time schools are handing out suitcases stuffed with cash, UW out here passing out Chicklets.
Honestly, 80% of college football is rounding third and heading for home on this NIL stuff, and UW has barely left the batters box.
Oregon’s state government cares more about football than the UW admin.

I used to roam eBay and flight club for Oregon Jordan’s back when only players and very specific corporate people got them. I think I remember a story about some basketball player getting caught for selling the shoes, worth somewhere around 15k at the time.
I always thought it was the stupidest rule ever, a kid not being able to sell the gear he was given. When NIL first happened this is the exact thing I thought about, leveraging available in states/areas where this has been going on for years. UW is so far behind the curve it’s ridiculous
I’m skeptical on how much “work” on this was actually required on the UW end. Reading up on it it sure seems like it was fanatics that did the heavy lifting and then allowed schools to “opt-in”.

Good for them. That makes them UW's exclusive NIL partner by default.

I don't know who this Greenblood asshole is, but his statement here is dead on. UW is congratulating themselves on their first pube while real schools fuck.
