Eklund put in a 6-inch crystal dong for the 4* Safety recruit Jordan Sanford out of Texas. Obviously it doesn't mean much coming from Eklund, but that would be another big get. The combo of him and Holmes would be a great safety class
That would be an impressive haul from Texas with this kid and James. Helps soften the blow of completely shitting the bed in state.
I always question 4* recruits with limited offer sheets though. This kid is a 4* in the DFW metroplex and his top two are UW and TCU. Doesn't quite pass the sniff test. Need @Tequilla to weigh in.
4 stars barely register anymore with Texas and TAMU
It’s great to see people actually want to come here. 3 stars, etc… I get it. But they didn’t want to come to play for Jimmy so it’s at least a positive sign, even though we have tons of work to do still.
Kienholz, a 6-foot-3, 185-pound quarterback from Pierre, SD, verbally committed to Washington over scholarship offers from Wisconsin, Wyoming, Arkansas State, Colorado State, Illinois, Kansas State, Minnesota, and North Dakota State. He officially visited Wisconsin and North Dakota State before taking an official visit to Seattle this past weekend.
Kienholz, rated a three-star quarterback by 247Sports' composite rating, is ranked the 42nd-best quarterback in the country and the top-ranked recruit from the state of South Dakota.
Your honor the defense rests.
Tell us where you and had him on your big board January 1st this year?
@Haie, if you were just trolling the board, I'd get it, but you actually buy the crap your trying to sell. That's the most amazing this about all this.
Not even mentioning Hatchett speaks volumes.
Where did I have the qb "on my big board"? Jesus. You don't get it. You need a baseline of talent and then it's all coaching and scheme. As evidenced every year by all the schools who massively over achieve their "talent" as well as schools like USC, Texas, and Washington in 2021.
This full cycle before even playing a game looks pretty good. The staff could still suck on the field but I don't think they will. Had fresno beating down teams after being eliminated from the ccg and was the #2/#3 team with only top 7 or 8 talent in the Mountain West.
You said over and over that UW would be pulling FCS/MW level classes. Completely wrong.

Just like grade inflation there is ranking inflation that goes on during the year...wouldn't surprise me if some of these guys move up and a few move down a bit. Until Feb its comparing apples and oranges.
In the end, this class will probably be similar in ranking to Pete's 2nd and 3rd classes, which were ranked around 25 or 30. If we have a strong season, it could jump up into the 15-20 range with some late additions. Oregon and SC will blow us out of the water if you're looking at rankings as they will both likely be top 10, possibly top 5. If we beat them on the field, it will be due to coaching and development.
In regards to the qb and his ranking, it doesn't matter. QB TBS rankings have proven to be shit year in and year out. This kid seems to have the athleticism and poise that has thrived in the DeBoer/Grubb system.

The 2021 class was massively skewed by Huard's 99 rating. Megwa was added to that class too because he reclassified in the fall but he wasn't part of the original signing class. If you swap out Huard for Keinholz the score is pretty similar.

Was going ro point his out too.
Huard currently sits at about a 3* ,value because he helped bring in some other big time guys. If not for that, you could adjust his career value to date down to 1*, and that's only because 1* is the lowest rating.

Honestly, not a big fan of taking this kid at this point. Huffman had nothing good to say about him except "he could be good someday". Both tackles in this class are extremely underwhelming

Same. At least we have 2 other OT prospects committed so we have the luxury of taking a flyer on this kid. Jimmy would've taken this commitment and called it good on OL recruiting.

I forgot Jackett was an OT. I really like him. Hemming doesn't do much for me and it sounds like he picked UW because Utah dropped him.

Please let this happen. Getting Bowers would be huge. I don't like where our TE recruiting is headed if we don't get him.

Still holding out some hope though...
Also:
You can never tell with o line guys though
Sounds like our next recruit will be a big one
