So he could’ve put O’Brien in but instead wasted one of the four games for that… fucking idiot.
He could have ran the wild cat 3 times instead of wasting a Huard game. This has to go down in history as one of the biggest coaching blunders in Husky history. I would be furious if I was Damon
Serious question why is anyone concerned about his redshirt? If he’s any good he won’t be at UW for a 5th year anyways
While I agree, I also think you be consistent with your behavior. There is a third QB on the roster to bring in for a series. One who's a 75th-year senior and has actually won college football games. If you're going to put in an 18 year old 5-star, what's the point if you're not going to leave him in long enough to see what you have with him?
I don't give a fuck about Huard's redshirt, but I also don't see the point in bringing him in for one series. This season is lost, so let's actually make it useful: Either you get your freshman ready to play next year (and his teammates a reason to STAY and be excited for the season) or you find out he's shit and make it easier to recruit another quarterback who might not be. Carrying on with Morris accomplishes nothing at this point. Putting Huard in for one series creates a small sample size that might discourage both Huard and teammates moving forward to next season.
I think Huard might suck. All I have ever seen are rainbows from him.
I think he has legit velocity issues at this level.
You've seen him throw one pass in a live game, and it was a one read pass play that calls for a rainbow.
I also questioned whether he knew how to throw the ball with zip at one time. Watch enough clips, including UW practice clips, and you can see that he's quite good at it. His arm is stronger than Morris's and he has a high release which would cut way back in the deflections.
All I'm saying is that whatever we may question about Huard is a lot more interesting going forward than more of what we already know about Morris.

Oh wait …

His default pass is a looping rainbow which comes from his arm motion and high release. I think he can get velocity on it, but I would rather see it.
Haven't seen it.
