Lol..just 9 short years ago....

Great sweet 16 exit as always...but celebrate the number 1 seed like they fucking won something.

Is nobody supposed to celebrate anything but a championship? At the time, it was a big deal and a good accomplishment.
-
A good example of how much fun Husky basketball should be. Like football was for two many years, it's a fucking shame and there can be no...... that is NO excuses or apologies for what it is.
-
I guess almost winning something is worth going nuts over. *sizzleRoadDawg55 said:Is nobody supposed to celebrate anything but a championship? At the time, it was a big deal and a good accomplishment.
In the age of rushing the field after beating Stanford, it makes sense.

It was pretty cool and an impressive accomplishment. It would have been way more impressive had they made the Final 4. -
You're right. Winning the Pac 10 championship and earning a #1 seed sucks. Your logic is fucking stupid. So Florida State is the only team to celebrate this year in football because they won the title? In 2000, we shouldn't have celebrated a Rose Bowl win because we didn't win the National Championship?MikeDamone said:

Some schools wait years to be a 16 seed and lose their shit when it becomes reality. Damone, would you not celebrate a rose bowl birth?

I'm with you on this, but that team didn't win the Pac10 championship.RoadDawg55 said:

Road Dawg beat me to the punch. iPhoneFS

Exactly. Is it okay to celebrate if we win the Pac 12 championship in football this year but lose by a FG to Ohio State in the Rose Bowl to cap off a 12-2 season? There's different levels of winning. If you are Alabama in football, or Duke in basketball it would be different.WilburHooksHands said:Some schools wait years to be a 16 seed and lose their shit when it becomes reality. It only would have been impressive if they made it to the final for...or even 8..instead it proved they were over rated. But at least the students got to got nuts for a few minutes and feel good about something, even though it was a mirageFire_Marshall_Bill said:It's

Celebrate? I would be glad, but I wouldn't go nuts and shit. I would book tickets to the game and hopefully celebrate a win.WilburHooksHands said:Some schools wait years to be a 16 seed and lose their shit when it becomes reality. Damone, would you not celebrate a rose bowl birth?

UW basketball claim to fame on the national stage is they were a number 1 seed once then shit the bed against the first decent team they played in the tournament. Awesome. High five.

You can get excited over a #1 seed AND be pissed at the loss to Louisville. Abundance. BTW, they lost to a Louisville team that went 33-5 and made the Final Four. It's not like they lost to a shitty mid major.MikeDamone said:

And other schools are national basketball powers..UW isn't now, nor ever has been...and likely will never be. 10 years from now when you want to fire Romars replacement, remember this thread.WilburHooksHands said:Some schools wait years to be a 16 seed and lose their shit when it becomes reality. Dickheads.gonna.dickhead. I'm not the type to go to some pep rally and go nuts because of a #1 seed. I'm sure many of those fans are the ones that think we should keep Romar forever. They probably liked Sark too and had no problem with rushing the field when we beat Stanford in the GameDay championship I just don't have a problem with celebrating wins and accomplishments as they come. You also said some of us were hooking it up when it was obvious all fucking season how good the Seahawks were.MikeDamone said:

I didn't have a problem with them celebrating the 1 seed. It wasn't that anyone thought it was an accomplishment, it was just an absolute shock. Nobody but Reece and NelsonDudley thought that team was getting a 1 seed.
I celebrated Sark leaving and Petersen coming. Not because either one was an accomplishment on their own, but because both shocked the hell out of me.
-
That Louisville team as a 4 seed was severely underrated. Also Romar vs Patino is a bitch slapping waiting to happen.
-
No idea how L'ville was a 4 seed that yr... L'ville was favored that game as well
-
There is a difference, but in my mind, they basically won the championship. The Pac 10 championship was #1 Arizona (15-3) and #2 UW (14-4). UW won the game and 2 outta 3 against Arizona. If we won the conference tournament after being 10-8 in conference, I would think of it much differently.dnc said:

The #1 seed was verification of national respect for a very good regular season. The loss to Louisville sucked and we got outplayed and outcoached. The sports programs at UW and Pro Sports teams would suck if everyone was like Damone and only celebrated after a title. I am all for not spending money and supporting shitty teams, not making excuses for shitty coaches, and being honest about a teams performance. Those are the fans that are problems, not the ones that celebrate #1 seeds. -
