Deontae Cooper on the difference between then, and now.

PassionPassion Member Posts: 4,622
Interviewer: "What are some of the differences between him (new RB coach Bhonapha) and what you had previously?"

Cooper: "Little things. Details. Knowing your assignments before you go out there. Study up. We spend a lot of time in individual kind of...perfecting footwoork, pass protection...the little things that will make us better as a team..."

"pass protection"... good to see it wasn't just the o-line that didn't know how to block for KP

Dude Brah thinks that's all bullshit ... It's not like Saban wins with attention to details and discipline ...

You guys keep saying Sark didn't pay attention details but I disagree.

They obviously spent a lot of time working on the lawnmower, plus Sark was the best scout team QB in the nation!

Love all these player quotes just validates us basement dwellers.

Sark spent a lot of time on details. He was keen to each pound that his wife gained and was always scouting the incoming talent at Joey's

He also knew every detail about the net worth of a 2 star DT from Lynnwood.

It's why I always liked Carroll and the Seahawks. They perfect what they do and don't give a fuck what you do.

While like RD said Sark would adjust to his opponent every week. The fundamentals were non existent apparently which is a shock to nobody.

Can't wait to see him take top 5 recruiting classes and go 8-4 every year.

"Have to pass the entire first half on Arizona's 10th ranked pass defense."

"What about exploiting their 12th ranked run defense and keeping your own defense off the field a bit?"

    "Huh?"

You act like Petermen is so much better. I'll bet he can't hit the goal post during the spring game.

Petersen had to learn how to beat "more talented teams" with less talent. He figured out that you do it by having a better game plan, and being more fundamentally sound.

Praying he can bring that level of preparation to Montlake, where recruiting talent isn't a problem.

Sounds like every player is speaking about the difference between Petersen and Sark. Does a tone know if they are really buying in? Are they working harder than ever? Is everyone staying in seattle for the summer?

Our former head coach is receiving a lot of shit around here now that Spring practices have begun at UW under new management, but there's one detail of fundamental football that Sark never seemed to ignore. That would be that few procedural penalties, if any, are loss of down and any offense can get the first with five snaps to make fifteen. Not just that SC will provide Sark with superior talent, but that with his attention to detail, they will need it.

Lack of fundamentals and discipline = the worst kept secret of 'Sark ball'. I was so ready for that punk to be gone.

Hopefully for once it's not L,R,R. Hopefully a coach finally lives up to the hype.

Unlike the previous three shitheads Petersen actually has a successful track record. Hopefully this time it's different.

... which explains why he hired Damon Huard. Delegation of duties is the mark of a true leader.
