Warren *perfectly* exemplifies the modern Democratic mindset. Transfer wealth by using other people's money to buy votes, while screwing the fuck out of every responsible citizen who pays their fair share.

For some reason, Fred Meyer's has signs up saying that ID will be required for ANYONE buying alcohol starting August 31. Just more phucking virtue signaling. So, the old bitty cashier, of course wearing a mask, today asked me to show ID for the wine I was buying. I told her no, I would show ID starting on August 31st if that was required. Shocked the bejesus out of her and then she wanted to argue about it. She noticed my Oregon shirt and thought that since I went to Oregon I should be happy to comply because of all the underage kids trying to buy alcohol at the stores. I told her I had no problem with asking for ID if there was a reasonable doubt if they weren't 21, but since this wasn't a reasonable assumption for me, then I would pass. She again said I wasn't being reasonable and that she was a retired school teacher and I had no idea what young people would do to get alcohol. I said, "Gee, I was young once and I had fake ID so I'm pretty sure I know what young people will do". Hell, my brother used to make fake Oregon driver's licenses using the Rusty aka Nick Papagiorgio technique from the street guy in Vegas Vacation. I then said that complying with stupid and unreasonable rules was acting like a sheep and the new rule was stupid and even more stupid was putting up signs saying it would be effective on August 31 and then trying to implement it early. Final word was that I preferred independent thought than stupid virtue signaling.
Like the dazzler with his mythical clients, I pity anyone this old lady had the misfortune to teach. And we wonder where masking of kids came from.
It's not about verifying your age. The gov't wants to track your drinking habits with each scan of your ID barcode.
When I used to smoke, I'd get carded even at 40, 41. It seemed stupid as hell, but I liked the fact I look young apparently. The stupid fine print says if you appear under 30, you'll get carded. I never thought too much about it, but this set some alarms off in Bill's head.
Marco better not go soft and try not to "offend" the Black lady. The first time he does he's going to be called a racist so he might as well rip the band aid off pronto.
You can easily substitute Portland for Minneapolis. For some reason, their saloons in Texas and Florida are doing well. We are on our way to Venezuela status. All we need is a huge student debt forgiveness and inflation will be halted in its tracks.
HOW A CITY DIES Over the last several years, Scott and I have chronicled the sad decline of the city of Minneapolis. The city’s collapse has several causes, starting with inadequate policies at the local, county and state levels. Over the last two years, of course, crime has become the biggest driver of decline, with covid lockdowns contributing. But it didn’t start with George Floyd, or with covid. Before covid and well before George Floyd, the most popular upscale lunch restaurant in Minneapolis closed suddenly, despite being crowded daily. The owners put a hand-made sign on the door saying that the cost structure in Minneapolis was such that it was not possible to operate profitably in the city.
And those were the good old days. Yesterday one of the city’s most popular bars announced that it was closing its doors. Its statement needs to be read and absorbed not just by all officials in Minneapolis, Hennepin County and the State of Minnesota, but by such officeholders nationwide:
For 2 and a half years we have fought through endless mandates and lockdowns issued by Governor Tim Walz…
This was a huge problem for many thousands of businesses, not just in Minnesota but across the country. Will there ever be a reckoning?
…as well as riots and rampant unchecked crime.
A young man celebrating his college graduation, scheduled for the next day, was shot and killed across the street from Wild Greg’s Saloon, apparently by a stray bullet. That is not good for business. But “unchecked” is a key word. City and state officials, including Governor Tim Walz, sympathized with rioters and criminals and actively worked to undermine law enforcement. Their recent backtracking in the face of hostile public opinion is much too little and, for this business anyway, comes too late.
We would like to thank Minneapolis City Councilmember Michael Rainville…
The city council member, perhaps the only one, who ran on an anti-crime platform. But, as I wrote here, the Minneapolis Star Tribune is trying to drive Rainville off the council because he committed the sin of noticing that many of the youths who terrorized the city last Fourth of July were Somalis.
Have the dazzler explain how the "Let's Make Inflation Higher Act" which will send hundreds of billions off to the chicoms is good for both the planet and for Americans.
