Anyone think the bad political news from this past week prompted today's CDC announcement?

Seriously, what change in the "science" caused this decision?

I thought wearing a mask was patriotic? Is the CDC now calling for people to be unpatriotic?

    I think it was a change in the data which caused it, not really the science.

    It’s a fluid situation. The CDC was waiting on the Philosophy PHD at the WHO to make a call on this. But when they didn’t advise. The CDC had to come out strong on this. Until next week when it will be revealed that double masking will be the new norm.

    Walk through the data and show how it changed this week. I heard King County was on a two week pause.
    The "data" was the polling being done by the WH on Joe's handling of the economy, the border, and the gas issue.

    Methinks the poles are coming back showing the common folk are getting pissed off beyond belief.

    They overplayed their hand. So the leftists are going to hunker down for a few months and position themselves as the 'friends' of the people.

    The new study out of Israel published this week was likely the final nail in the coffin for mask wearing by vaccinated people. It pretty much confirmed what we assumed but didn't yet have the data to conclusively demonstrate that the vaccines are not only incredibly effective at combating the most severe symptoms caused by covid but are also very effective at stopping asymptomatic infections as well as greatly reducing overall transmission.

    The interim results from the UK study a couple weeks ago were pretty close to the Israeli results published this week. Great to see.
