I don’t trust Huff’s evaluations but I know nothing about Brailsford
Jimmy/JonDon made the call to put 30 extra pounds on all the OL. I expect them all to be much slimmer and better next year and everyone here to praise the new OL Coach who may or may not suck anyway.
Would love to hear some insight into what @PapaBrailsford and family think of it what’s gone down over the last few months, how they’re feeling about DeBoer and the new staff, etc
Sorry for the delayed response. It’s been a whirlwind of a month…went from being unsure whether the UW offer/commitment would be honored, to hearing that it should be honored, to hearing it probably would be honored, to finally getting confirmation that it would be honored and more importantly, that the new HC and OC actually wanted Parker. Although Parker never de-committed, with the uncertainty at UW, we started talking to other schools to see what options were still available. The early signing period has become THE signing period for a lot of schools and with Parker graduating HS early & wanting to get on campus in January, the early signing period was his only desirable option.
There were several schools interested (some hadn’t even offered, but inquired about whether he would commit if offered)…and I see that someone from Colorado leaked that an official was scheduled. Parker didn’t take any official visits…not even to UW. Parker was still playing for the state title (beat nationally ranked Hamilton (#11) and nationally ranked Chandler (#16) in back to back weeks) which made visits impossible. Also, he was taking finals. Hence, OVs were a luxury he couldn’t afford. In any event, OVs weren’t a big deal to Parker. He didn’t love the recruiting process and frankly, neither did I. It was exciting at first, but became very time consuming as things progressed. But that’s all in the past. Parker graduated HS. He’s committed and signed with UW. He’ll move in to his dorm on 1/1. First team meeting is the evening of 1/2. First day of class is 1/3 (but that may be online).
As for the new staff, I’ve only met Coach DeBoer. He visited us in our home a few weeks ago. Despite the fact that he’d been working 20 hour days since being hired, he was impressive. Parker really liked him. I think he’ll be good recruiter. We’ve also heard really good things about the new S&C coach. That was important to us (and more importantly, Parker).
I’m not sure I answered your question, and if not, feel free to rephrase and I’ll take another shot at it.

We're pretty fortunate to have you drop in PapaBrailsford. Know that it's much appreciated even if everyone is too distracted by all the nonsense around here to say so.
