TL;DR he signed a $13M NIL deal that Florida's NIL group had no means of achieving. NIL group rolled back the contract, now Rashada is up in the air

    It will work out

Smart teams will buy vets. The market for high school kids will go down

This. It’ll be a process, but it’ll calm down eventually once schools realize there’s way more value in proven commodities than teen bois.

The Athletic confirmed he was supposed to get $13m from Florida collectives.

That's a fucking absurd amount of money for a high school kid.
It figures that the deal would fall through. Not even the most "fuck you" moneyed boosters are going to contribute that kind of cash for a kid who is statistically unlikely to be a first teamer all conference. And that still wouldn't be enough to justify the money.

How do you guarantee open competition with a guy making that much?

NIL does not work when done like this. Look at AtM.

It would be the most toxic locker room
Most of these nil figures thrown around are 5-10x higher than what they actually are. Anything you see online just divide it by 10. 1.3m still too much for this kid
5-10X higher? Do you have a source or direct knowledge that this is the case?

If we don't get him it's because someone paid more than fair market value for him. I'm not big on paying top dollar on an unproven commodity.
Nothing ventured. I care that we(?) care.

He’d have to beat out Drew Pyne

At least he can beat him out. He's sitting for a year at UW.

first year coach and shit surrounding talent or proven winner head coach, sit one year, and have good surrounding talent? If we whiff I'll be upset we only have 2 scholarship QBs on the roster and no one to compete with whatever transfer we bring in next year.

Exactly. I don't want Montlake Futures to break the bank on this guy.
Not my money, who the fuck cares?
It’s a finite pot. Whatever money you give him is money you can’t spend on others

Sure but it's not like we spent a bunch of money on our class?

Yup. The 'finite pot' is a good excuse to not appear cheap. Like baseball owners convincing the fans they need to spend responsibility. Of course there's limits, but when a coach needs to be fired, schools always seem to come up with the money.
With that said, 0.1% chance we get Rashada.

Pretty sure the many and varied food options at Safeco/T-Mobile offset the lack of spending on good players for the last 20 years.

    Who made you team President?

Because we'll save our money for a better player when the right opportunity comes.

This kid has to make a decision by Wednesday, right? Thought I read somewhere that the portal closes in a couple days.
