Welcome to the Hardcore Husky Forums. Folks who are well-known in Cyberland and not that dumb.
Go ahead and talk shit about Romar...
but keep in mind that when you talk about coaching change, recruits see it and don't want to play for UW. Also keep in mind that when recruits don't want to play for UW, they go elsewhere. Also keep in mind that when recruits go elsewhere, we don't win games. Also keep in mind that when we don't win games the coach gets fired. So it's really your fault if Romar gets fired, not his. These kids don't pay much attention to the team's wins and losses but they do, apparently, pay attention to what a few random people say about the coach on dawgman.
By the way, we don't delete opinions. Also, by the way Romar isn't going anywhere so all of this is silly.

Why isn't it okay to discuss firing Romar THIS season? of course it should be discussed now rather than later, because you could argue the future looks bleak. And I wouldn't shed any tears if Woodward decided to make a change at years end if the product on the court I'm seeing continues to look horrid
Fucking hate how I always get this response when I suggest moving past Romar. With Sark it's always "Let me guess you want Ty back?!! ROFL!". No you dumb fuck Doog I want a coaching upgrade you simple minded fucks!
We were told over and over again how there is no way UW could improve the coaching situation with Sark so we should just shut the fuck up and be happy he even coaches here at all. Then Sark left and what do you know? We did improve our coaching situation by hiring Petersen.
Shit I remember back in the day Doogs(before the term was invented) defending how you can't fire Bender since he just brought in a kickass class with Mike Jensen, C.J. Massingale, Earl Knight and was about to bring in Brandon Roy plus Nate Robinson was coming to school thanks to Rick. Remember guys this program was dogshit before Bender got here and did take us to the sweet 16 just a few years back. I actually remember that talk.
I guarantee UW will find someone who is just as good as Romar and probably will be better. It wasn't like Romar was some kickass coach when he came here. I believe he even had a career losing record before UW hired him.
Every gonzaga fan I know loves that idea. Few is a worse game manager than romar.
Kim's analysis is so fucking bad. It's absolutely terrible. I disagree with people that think Romar should get another year. I think the time is now to make a change, but I can understand the people who want to give him another year to see if he can pull in a great recruiting class in 2015. I don't think possible losing those guys from Rainier Beach is enough of a reason to keep Romar, but I understand it. The local talent is certainly on the upswing for the next few years.
Until this year, I was not in the fire Romar camp, but I think the time has come. I don't put too much stock in the lack of success in the tournament. A little luck in 2006, 2009, and 2011 and we could have gone pretty far. All of those losses were close. The loss to UConn was especially painful because all we had to do was beat George Mason to make the Final 4.
It's about getting there year in and year out, and consistently being a top 3-4 team in the Pac 12. You do that, and eventually you will break through in the tournament. I understand having a bad year here and there, and potentially being a bubble team, but 3 years in a row of not making it, probably looking at 4 in a row, combined with shitty recruiting, and a lack of fan interest in the program means it's time for a change.
However, when you provide facts that show that this love affair with Romar being the greatest coach ever, the arguments against that are just so flat out terrible that it's almost impossible not to think that people aren't whoosing you (except for looking at the track record of their arguments).
It was impossible watching our terrible play in the 2nd half tonight and make any constructive argument for us being a well coached team.
