Welcome to the Hardcore Husky Forums. Folks who are well-known in Cyberland and not that dumb.

Go ahead and talk shit about Romar...

but keep in mind that when you talk about coaching change, recruits see it and don't want to play for UW. Also keep in mind that when recruits don't want to play for UW, they go elsewhere. Also keep in mind that when recruits go elsewhere, we don't win games. Also keep in mind that when we don't win games the coach gets fired. So it's really your fault if Romar gets fired, not his. These kids don't pay much attention to the team's wins and losses but they do, apparently, pay attention to what a few random people say about the coach on dawgman.

By the way, we don't delete opinions. Also, by the way Romar isn't going anywhere so all of this is silly.

The seattle media is already hinting that Romar's job is definitely a "next season" issue. That it's all building towards next year if the teams struggles continue, and speculating about firing him this season wouldn't be wise because blah blah blah. What they're failing to do is analyze the state of the program as a whole and ask, does the fanbase really care that much about winning? do the donors? does this coach really have any future prospects of getting this team to a Final Four in the next few seasons?

Why isn't it okay to discuss firing Romar THIS season? of course it should be discussed now rather than later, because you could argue the future looks bleak. And I wouldn't shed any tears if Woodward decided to make a change at years end if the product on the court I'm seeing continues to look horrid

Shit even Softy (along with Sandmeier) had lengthy segments last week about next year looking for a new coach. Next year the team will likely be worse. They lose CJ and don't bring anyone in who can really contribute right away. I don't buy the fact that 2-star Jerreau was going to be a difference maker this year. Their only hope is that Upshaw guy becoming a threat and somebody like Andrews or NWG totally blowing up

How can you stand listening to Softy, Sandinhisvagina, and KJR in general?

Sandmeyer (who is on 1090, not the KJR dreckfest) will be the one calling for Romar's firing next season when the team is shitty, while Softy and the KJR faggots will continue to make excuses. That'd be the difference between the two shows.

So if Romar gets fired, who are you going to get to replace him? That's what I thought.

What would it take to get Mark Few?

Every gonzaga fan I know loves that idea. Few is a worse game manager than romar.

I guarantee UW will find someone who is just as good as Romar and probably will be better. It wasn't like Romar was some kickass coach when he came here. I believe he even had a career losing record before UW hired him.

And even if we don't, you blow it up and try again. That's the way real schools operate. Some of these miserable fucks would rather languish in mediocrity (debatable) than try to be great. And it really does bug the shit out of me because I realize a good percentage of people are like that. FYFMFE.

So if Romar gets fired, who are you going to get to replace him? That's what I thought.

Kim asked that, then got pissed when someone created a thread and mentioned Leon Rice. Called it silly, that it hurts recruiting, etc. He's a moron and he doesn't get it. I wonder what Indiana's fan boards look like this year? UCLA's the past few years? How about Kentucky's the past two years? Bad basketball and poor attendance hurts recruiting, not a fucking message board. Was it the negative posters on the message boards fault that Romar didn't sign a single guy for 2012?

Kim's analysis is so fucking bad. It's absolutely terrible. I disagree with people that think Ty should get another year. I think the time is now to make a change, but I can understand the people who want to give him another year to see if he can pull in a great recruiting class in 2008. I don't think possible losing those guys from Rainier Beach is enough of a reason to keep Romar, but I understand it. The local talent is certainly on the upswing for the next few years.

I fully get that Romar's not getting fired this year for a number of reasons.

However, when you provide facts that show that this love affair with Romar being the greatest coach ever, the arguments against that are just so flat out terrible that it's almost impossible not to think that people aren't whoosing you (except for looking at the track record of their arguments).

It was impossible watching our terrible play in the 2nd half tonight and make any constructive argument for us being a well coached team.
