Just spent a week in Bend and the homeless are generally stashed north of town and out of sight. Downtown area is clean and no sleeping bags or tents. 25% restaurant occupancy was generally considered a suggestion and not a requirement. D&D Bar and Grill (kind of a dive bar and grill, pretty sure my wife and I were the only "tourists" in there, was packed for Sunday breakfast and even had bar seating. Hope I make it to Friday for my shot before I die.

They seem to stash them all just by the on ramp to 97 north of Downtown. There's like 1 homeless shelter in the entire town and the locales don't seem to accommodating. Contrast this with Salem which isn't that much larger of a city than Bend (101K v 169K) and you have a massive bum problem. But Salem is far more left leaning and has a large number of "gospel mission" type places. Fuck that.

Bend ain't super RED anymore, but even the Dems here seem to be pretty chill about Covid. Not like Seattle at all where you get masked shamed in a park or walking down a residential side walk.
Walking the dog last night around 10 p.m., came upon a couple wearing headlamps and giant white masks. As I got within 50 feet, they began scurrying up the slope to the next street, looking back over their shoulders and triangle masks at my audacity to walk a dog outside at 10 p.m. without a mask.

You'd have thunk they'd seen a black guy walking in their neighborhood.
I'd ride the chairlift a lot with strangers. I tell them that the 30 to 40 MPH winds will easily blow the crud away. Always get a laff.

I don't know where to rank Bendites or Bendians on the masking hysteria graph.

How about when there is no 5G breakout you phuck off and troll somewhere else. You won't, I bet you are getting paid for this. You are too deep in this sh*t to not be getting paid. No better than the Lincoln Project nutcases.

How about you fuck off and go back to dawgman where you clearly belong. You may already be dead or incapacitated from your vaccine regime (yes, if you think they will be content with only shooting you up with one, think again) by the time the MSM is destroyed and the truth about 5g is known and accepted. You were warned, and I wash my hands of it. As for the Lincoln Project, you are serving the human trafficking cult that runs the world through your ignorance, your refusal to do actual research, and your submission to their Agenda, which includes Convid 1984, Weather Warfare Destruction and Global Depopulation.

You are exactly the same as the rats in Nazi Germany who consented to the tyranny through vile ignorance and cowardice, which allowed it to get as far as it got. You're not alone though, as most Americans are as stupid as you are.

Additionally, you're a sheep of the highest order, as you daily watch and believe the real Conspiracy Theories propagated by the MSM: Covid, Climate Change, Russia, China and North Korea are the real enemies, etc.
Wait - I thought we are for the Batman?!?

    REALLY need that depth chart.

The MSM tells you every day that Russia, China, North Korea are the enemies, which logically means they are not. But beyond that, they are not. The enemies are the government of defunct Corporation of the United States of the City of London, the governments of the UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Western Europe and others.

Seriously, where have all the decent teachers gone?

This current fucking cult of woke anti-white, anti-racist, pro-tranny assholes are destroying what was once a semi-honorable profession.

7 years ago, I wouldn't have imagined I'd see white 2nd graders apologizing to their non-white classmates for being white, or being told a boy who wears a dress is just as normal as one who doesn't. Such thoughts would've rightfully been considered ridiculous and absurd.

Is part of enrolling in a non-competitive teaching program having your brain sucked out of your head?

That screaming cunt in this picture is just a brainwashed bully, plain and simple. And inept, uncritical but narcissistic enough to believe masking up is a huge life-saving sacrifice for all of humanity.

She's almost as bad as those "I'm saving the world" bicyclists I hate so much.

PS. I ride, a lot, alone. Fuck those advertising-covered fags who think they're a peloton in Le Tour.

    They dead or done.

All the teachers of our youth who went through college on the GI Bill, dead or near dead. Those were the tuff motherfuckers who served in WWII and Korea.

Then the next set of tuff motherfuckers who served in Vietnam. Retired.

Those two saved a decent generation of teachers through about the mid 80's/early 90's. Same at the university level.

The next generation of teachers came through the fucked up university system where everybody gets some orange slices and all the feels.

@PurpleThrobber: The lack of self-awareness and consequences among this latest crop is unbelievable. Watch them cry and whine when students start trapping them inside their classrooms with hallway protests over bad grades.

"We'll turn the streets into our classrooms" said a union leader not long ago.

Who - in the fuck - wants their kids learning anything from such dysfunctional societal losers?

Get the fuck out of the road, assholes. People who actually do shit need through.

It's pretty sad. Two of the Throbber's parents were educators from the tuff Korean War era. One of the Throbber kids is a teacher - but with relief, it is in a charter school and has a real heart for it. I worry she'll get ground up by the system at some point. She'd have been successful at whatever she chose to do so I wouldn't label all teachers as 'losers' - at 22 her resume and accomplishments are as good as your going to get.

But, yeah, generally, you're not getting the A-1 top end of the spectrum. Personally, I had great agony because at that age, I really wanted to teach and coach - but the pay was so horrific I just couldn't get do it. The money was too good elsewhere. Had that been available then, I'd be taking summers off, for sure.

Now I only take part of each summer off instead.

Our kindergarten teacher with SPS was excellent. Sadly, we probably had one of the more insanely woke elementary schools in all of Seattle. Hence the official BLM week at school (pre Floyd death) + transgender pro noun studies for 6 year olds.

I will say that the Bend La Pine School district didn't seem to have nearly as much trouble with the unions pushing back on school opening. I think BLPS is the only one of the 10 largest district in the state to be open for in person.

I loved the comment in italics below from the article - strange they have been doing work on coronavirus shots (aka vaccines) before the pandemic started. So studying bat coronavirus vaccines pre pandemic OMG #obk nailed it

Prior to the pandemic, I thought most corona viruses (viri?) were associated with colds and any idiot knows that you don't need a vaccine for colds.

The trial has been so fast in concluding the first two phases because of the head start provided by previous work on coronavirus vaccines in Oxford, the acceleration of administrative and funding processes, and the huge interest in the trial which meant no time was spent searching for volunteers.

A real laff? Or a forced, but terrified laff?

I don't know where to rank Bendites or Bendians on the masking hysteria graph.
REAL laff. Bendites seem to be pretty chill about masks, especially east of the river.

That crazy Subaru driving teacher wasn't even from Bend. Redmond I think.

Wedgewood Elementary, by chance? Or something worse?

Talk about ruining a good neighborhood school. Fuck.

It's a small world, and weird, that I know 3 families, including Yellow, that live on the same street in Bend.

I'm glad to read of all the people getting the vaccines so that I don't have to. Herd immunity ftw. I will only consider the Johnson & Johnson shot in a couple years if COVID is still a thing because it's based on long-standing science and methodology. Keep that RNA shit away from me.

Medical applications using RNA manipulation have been around a long time. You just haven't known what has been injected into your body until now.
These are the first vaccines produced in any large scale using rna technology.
    First "vaccine".
I'd suggest you look into the many other products that are in common use.
    RNA manipulation isn't new.

Never wore a mask unless I was in a store and only for seconds in a restaurant.
Translation: I'm a mask wearing sheep.
