A good 81% of the country is completely possessed by either a slavish love or hate for Trump. The emotionality around Obama was pretty bad, but this is worse, in my opinion.
Blind love or hate as it turns out keeps one from seeing the full picture. It messes with your head, pushing out rationality.
Everyone, detach a little bit. Having this emotional investment in a politician (yes, he's been president for 4 years, he's a politician now) is not healthy.

I do, however, personally know quite a few folks who follow him entirely for the feels ... just a different set of feels, but the feels nonetheless. They'd follow him anywhere. My wife's got a cousin who's a nurse down in the 'Deen, who has become quite a renaissance woman these days. I was quite surprised to learn that she now is an expert on SCOTUS jurisprudence. For her, if Trump does it, she likes it and defends to the end of time, whether she actually understands it or not. And she's certainly not alone. There are a lot of them.
That said, I've acknowledged many times that there are a lot of good reasons to like Trump the POTUS. So whatever. But I also stick with my view that a US POTUS is not someone to hero worship. We've yet to have one who has had that kind of appeal for me. Jimmy Johnson? Mario Cristobal? Dong James? Heroes. Lincoln? Really good President. That is all.

I voted Cruz in the primary and against Hillary in the 2016 election...that said Trump has been a much better President than I imagined he ever would have been.
