Seattle sucks. I voted with my feet and left. It's not going to become Detroit though.
It does suck in many ways. I consider leaving. I do sense some backlash in sentiment, but if we all do a Dori Monson and do our bitching from Shoreline (or Bothell, or Kent, etc.) instead of staying, who do you think will be voting in Seattle?
At this point what difference does it make?
I don’t view it as my duty to stay. But this has been a nice place to live for most of my life. I don’t think it’s doomed, but I do wonder where the tipping point is.
The people moving to Seattle are either going there for a tech job or because they actually like the politics of the city. If it ever changes course it will take at least a generation at this point, probably two.
The City is overrun with soyboyz and beta males. It's been growing softer and softer, year after year, since the early 90s. The city is so full of skinny dudes with perfectly coifed beards paired up with 250 lb plus fat bitches who boss them around, it's fucking absurd. Even worse, many men I've met call themselves "feminists" for fuck sake, forever dooming themselves to the friend zone, paying for dinners while their date goes home with someone else@puppylove_sugarsteel . FT, FM, FY, and fuck Seattle.
Seattle sucks. I voted with my feet and left. It's not going to become Detroit though.
Yellow, first off fren, I like you.
But I'm pretty sure you voted Dem early and often at the state and local levels and you reaped the rewards.
Moving to Bend like every other west of the mountains lib that enjoys the outdoors is humorous and par for the course.
Maybe I'm wrong, but if I'm not, don't make the same fucking mistake and turn Bend into Eugene.
Despite everything in Seattle I am blessed to have a good techish job and I enjoy living here, for the most part. Maybe I'll move one day, but until then I'll be fighting the good fight and will vote straight R. Who knows, the pendulum might even swing a little more towards sanity?
Well, fren, in the 25 years of and on that I have been a registered voter in Seattle, I voted GOP in every Federal, State and Local election with one notable exception- i.e., not voting for Trump in 2016. So I didn't reap shit. If you recall some of my earlier posts @PostGameOrangeSlices I was stuck in Seattle Public School hell waging a lonely fight again transgender pronoun studies for kindergartners and official BLM week in school.
My wife and I are fortunate to be able to keep Seattle based income and live in Bend. It was a no brainier once this became a reality. It is overrun with California libs, but in comparison to Seattle it feels like Texas. We're in the most liberal part of town an instead of every other house having a BLM yard sign like my street in Seattle, maybe only 1 in 15 do here. That's progress if you ask me.
Give Bend one more federal election cycle - they will catch up. The school district will not be far behind Seattle/Washington in its efforts to teach porno at an early age
So what city of 100,000 near the mountains in the Western USA isn't fairly liberal? SLC? Ask @89ute . Missoula is getting more liberal. Boise I guess but it doesn't appeal to me. And living the guns n' religion compound lifestyle like @PurpleThrobber ain't going work for us.
Chandler, Scottsdale, Gilbert
They opened up skools already, unlike the SJW pussies here
Yup. I miss the greenery of western WA (and the skiing), but not much else. Took a break from work this afternoon and spent a couple of hours at the pool; I regret nothing.

Even Bozeman-Belgrade is about 50/50 right now, if not slightly left.
The environment and nature seduce them. Then they turn around and ruin it with spoiled little bastard kids.
Sorry, Yella, but those little Cali spawn all over Milltown are a big reason I don't go to Bend anymore. Punk-Ass little shits.
Do your kids a favor and beat their asses when they misbehave. They'll thank you for it later.
I've seen some of the little punk ass shits you mention @TurdBomber . The older kids in our hood all seem to have discipline and don't suck. I think we're in a good spot.
They know they're hooked up to the parents bank accounts and don't want to fuck it up. Clever, sneaky and sophisticated in their almost criminal antics.
Seattle sucks. I voted with my feet and left. It's not going to become Detroit though.
Maybe, but it sure already is looking like New York of the 70's and 80's going bankrupt. Just give Sawant tim to get her guysm in there.
At its height, Detroit had the highest per capita income in the country. It looked nothing like the progressive shit hole it ultimately became. Detroit's industrial base was stunning. That kind of "permanent" infrastructure is "impossible" to replace ... until it ultimately was in several states and on several continents. The city was also a major cultural center with some of the finest museums and art galleries in the country. Nearby were some of the finest country clubs, golf courses and yacht clubs. City government went all in with progressive policies that pushed out those with high incomes to nearby suburbs. Riots accelerated that trend ultimately killing the city, and some real gems along with it, including Belle Isle.
Seattle-ites tend to be very provincial. They think Puget Sound is "god's gift" to the world and fail to see parallels such as these. Seattle's situation is more tenuous than many care to recognize. It has become largely a one trick pony, all in on tech that can exist anywhere, and there is a progressive/marxist local and state government all in on bleeding it dry. Boeing is doing the sensible thing with the 787. I would not be surprised to see others follow their example.
Detroit was the industrial giant of the world. Many of my family worked at various plants back in the day. Work was plentiful pay was good and it all got fucked partly because the unions went way to far and crazy demorat policies.

It's way too hot for Rocktober, but I don't miss 57 and rain right now. This new mayor is a fucking cunt (but decent rack). Her Black Lies Matter love and anti-police bullshit (accused a guy of being a racist on flimsy evidence and reversed a pro police gesture) made me start to hate most Dimocrats around here.

* except Yella, he's a good chap. But Bend is a nice place, so I don't blame him.
MOTHERFUCKING WORD!!!!
