    Maybe, but it sure already is looking like New York of the 70's and 80's going bankrupt. Just give Sawant tim to get her guysm in there.

    Seattle sucks. I voted with my feet and left. It's not going to become Detroit though.

    It does suck in many ways. I consider leaving. I do sense some backlash in sentiment, but if we all do a Dori Monson and do our bitching from Shoreline (or Bothell, or Kent, etc.) instead of staying, who do you think will be voting in Seattle?

    I don’t view it as my duty to stay. But this has been a nice place to live for most of my life. I don’t think it’s doomed, but I do wonder where the tipping point is.

    I don’t view it as my duty to stay. But this has been a nice place to live for most of my life. I don’t think it’s doomed, but I do wonder where the tipping point is.
    The people moving to Seattle are either going there for a tech job or because they actually like the politics of the city. If it ever changes course it will take at least a generation at this point, probably two.

    Getting her re-called would be a big win for the good people of Seattle.

    I can see some version of 70s and 80s NYC urban decline but it's not like the great cities of the West aren't all looking at this. LA, PDX, SFO, and SEA are all looking more shithole-esque.

    Even in the 70s and 80s NYC was still the capital of the world. Hell some New Yorkers have been excited to get some of that grit back. Fucked up if you ask me, but still.

    But I'm pretty sure you voted Dem early and often at the state and local levels and you reaped the rewards.

    Moving to Bend like every other west of the mountains lib that enjoys the outdoors is humorous and par for the course.

    Maybe I'm wrong, but if I'm not, don't make the same fucking mistake and turn Bend into Eugene.

    Despite everything in Seattle I am blessed to have a good techish job and I enjoy living here, for the most part. Maybe I'll move one day, but until then I'll be fighting the good fight and will vote straight R. Who knows, the pendulum might even swing a little more towards sanity?

    Too many lefty's will continue to move here for Seattle to ever become Detroit. It's just past the point of no return in becoming a liberal elitist playground where you can either afford million dollar-plus mortgages or live in subsidized housing. There will be zero middle class in the city in another 15-20 years.

    Well, fren, in the 25 years of and on that I have been a registered voter in Seattle, I voted GOP in every Federal, State and Local election with one notable exception- i.e., not voting for Trump in 2016. So I didn't reap shit. If you recall some of my earlier posts @PostGameOrangeSlices I was stuck in Seattle Public School hell waging a lonely fight again transgender pronoun studies for kindergartners and official BLM week in school.

    My wife and I are fortunate to be able to keep Seattle based income and live in Bend. It was a no brainier once this became a reality. It is overrun with California libs, but in comparison to Seattle it feels like Texas. We're in the most liberal part of town an instead of every other house having a BLM yard sign like my street in Seattle, maybe only 1 in 15 do here. That's progress if you ask me.
    Give Bend one more federal election cycle - they will catch up. The school district will not be far behind Seattle/Washington in its efforts to teach porno at an early age

    So what city of 100,000 near the mountains in the Western USA isn't fairly liberal? SLC? Ask @89ute . Missoula is getting more liberal. Boise I guess but it doesn't appeal to me. And living the guns n' religion compound lifestyle like @PurpleThrobber ain't going work for us.
