Oregon is ten times the job that Miami is. @creepycoug

It would seem that the you shoved your head too far up your ass today in an effort to avoid the smoke.

    Take it easy.
    Too easy.

If Cristobal landed in Miami they would immediately be back in the conversation.

Otherwise they’re just treading water like other formally great programs - Texas, Norte Dame, Michigan, etc.

Cristobal failed at FIU and was an unproven coach two years ago according to these same Doogs. Much easier path to the playoffs in the PAC than in the Clemson conference.

"Failed" is not quite accurate. You might want to dig into that one a little bit.

Also, while the path to the playoffs is easier in the Pac, he can amass the talent he needs at Miami very easily (especially for him) to run with anybody. And what's more, when you wear the Orange and Green, you aren't afraid of the SEC, SEC, SEC.

He’s getting the talent already. Why does he need to be in Miami?

This will be the third year in a row Oregon is going to have one of their best classes ever.

You make a decent point. Oregon is bringing in great talent. But let's face it: talen doesn't flock to the PNW. It does flock to Miami. With a guy who can recruit like Crisco does, it doesn't seem to matter.

Still ... he could absolutely hammer the talent wars from that base of operations. He knows it; he's done it before.

California is also one of the best hotbeds in the country, and outside of the SEC poaching one here or there, the only competition he has is USC and Washington. USC isn’t what they used to be, and Washington all of a sudden forgot how to recruit.

You get peak Cristoballz, Flex Friday, bling’d out turnover chains, some Bad Boy marking campaign, and top it off with a bunch of bikini-clad Miami hotties I bet recruits will forget about Oregon really fucking quick.

Same thing goes for USC. Fortunately for us? they continue to employ Helton but that program is one GOOD coach away from being very scary again.

That’s basically my original point. You can literally build a title contender with what comes out of Dade county, with maybe a need to go grab a lineman or a QB elsewhere every other year. Everybody knows it.

Also, Crisco has been winning since he showed up and is recruiting his balls off. It’s a tall order to do that every year. He could pull this off at 1/2 speed back home.

He'd be a fool not to go home if the opportunity arose.

Diaz seems to be doing just fine at The U but wow, Coach Willie Taggart absolutely crushed the Florida State program in his short time there.

I was actually upset when he left Oregon. Was wrong on that one. No wonder most of the UO staff didn’t follow that disaster to Tallahassee and decided to stay in Eugene.

Indeed. I’m not sure I can recall a coach doing more damage in a shorter period of time than Willie at FSU. He has set them back for years. Guy has his work cut out for him.

Willie had some personal problems at UO. He was Sark at USC except instead of booze it was buds all day.

    I had heard that.

But he did one thing right: he got Cristobal on the staff.

That's not what I'm talking about mang. You can't fix being built on limestone and the GND not getting passed.

exactly, in 20 years the town will be underwater, the school will be virtual and the only sports program they will have will be crew

    Bump

Big time Miami boosters are livid after last night

Joking aside, Manny hasn't done the thing that is absolutlely killing them: O line. It's also the thing Cristobal is pretty damn good at. This is his second year, and he lost to a juggernaut on the road. But that d line and the backers were in the backfield on every single offensive snap. Miami's O line was lost.

You can't play with the Clemsons and Bamas and on-year LSUs w/o a stout O line. You have to be able to run and give your QB more than .7 of a second to make a play.

If Manny can't get O linemen in this class and get what he has to play better than last night, his time is very short, and if that's the case, the Miami boosters will want someone like Mario to come in and field a real Miami team. And real Miami teams can run the ball.
