Four white guys pull up next to her at a stop light yelling racial slurs, spray her lighter fluid and then toss a lighter into her car that catches her on fire. Bernstein said she was advised not to contact police right away “because I was high as a kite” on pain medication. She finally got home at around 6:00 Wednesday morning and called police later in the day. She said she was told they wouldn’t be able to take a statement because they were too busy preparing for protests, but that they would investigate. -
