Kim basically said look at the Seahawks and Pete Carroll, yes they get some under the radar guys, but the thing that really makes them go is their 1st round picks: Thomas, Okung, Lynch (Was a 1st round pick at Buffalo). What Kim fails to realize is that this is just a stupid argument and actually it supports Chris Petersen's method of recruiting; that talent is talent, not matter how many stars or how they are graded in the NFL Draft.
1) Yes, Okung and Thomas are great players and they do help the team. But those first round picks are not as many as you get in rounds 3-7. You live off your late round picks. As long as you get a couple high end players in the draft it doesn't matter where you get them (Sherman, Chancellor, Unger, RUSSELL WILSON, KJ Wright, Mebane, Red Bryant, Maxwell) and then you pick up some guys off the scrap heap that also weren't highly drafted or thought of during their careers (Clemons, Bennett, McDonald, McDaniel, Avril, MARSHAWN LYNCH, Michael Robinson). This whole strategy by the Hawks mirrors Petersens... Get the best players, regardless of where the "Draft/Scout.com Experts" say they should be ranked.
2) Petersen has a scheme that he will recruit to, a type of player he will look for; Just like Carroll and Schneider have a scheme and player they look for. They trust their scheme and evaluation and believe they can bring in guys, coach them up, and run a great program.
3) Let's look at the Seahawks high end draft picks over the Carroll Era (Round 1-2):
2013: Round 1: No one (Percy Harvin)
Round 2: Christine Michael (No contribution yet, NFL Draft people hated this pick)
2012: Round 1: Bruce Irvin (NFL draft people hated this pick)
Round 2: Bobby Wagner (NFL draft people hated this pick)
2011: Round 1: James Carpenter (Likely gone after this season)
2010: Round 1: Okung, Thomas (homeruns)
Round 2: Golden Tate (well done)
Again, this shows that there have not been many "high end" players that the Hawks have gotten in the early rounds. And in fact, the Hawks reached with a lot of those picks. Obviously Okung and Thomas are homeruns. But Tate was a reach, Wagner was a reach, Irvin was a reach. They stick to their evaluations, not what Mel Kiper or Todd McShay think. Just like Petersen will stick to his evaluations, not what F3 or Ektard think. The bulk of an NFL roster is late round guys. Just like the bulk of a recruiting class is 3 star players. I have no doubt Petersen will be able to get high end guys as well; but he will build his team on 3 star players that beat the shit out of other teams and players.
Fucking do your Homework Kim. Don't spout your non football knowledge and expect to not get called out on it. Your Seahawk argument actually supported Petersen's theories you dumb fuck. And oh yeah. RUSSELL WILSON WAS A 3RD ROUND PICK KIM!

Carroll constantly had his drafts bashed on by NFL versions of Kim.
The Seahawks are more similar to what Petersen is trying to accomplish.
Just funny how Kim wouldn't let anyone second guess a 34-29 unproven coach but nitpicks every little thing on Petersen.
Fuck you Kim!
Can you imagine someone running a car dealership, but not knowing anything about cars? His business is giving insight about football, having legit sources, scooping out rumors. Is he good at anything? He's never right with his predictions, his sources are shit (said he would bet his house Nuss was named coach, Bad Apple), and his football insights are laughable. I guess he is decent at stalking teenage boys and being a creep taking pictures at tailgate parties.
I would LOVE to hear what he has to say about Kim.
