Curious as to why so many conspiracy theories have been floating around I did a quick internet search on the subject and came across this article. Although the article makes logical sense in regard to denouncing the accusations against Gates, I found the following somewhat problematic. Wouldn't a tattoo regardless of size or visibility be in fact a tracking mechanism? Who cares if Gruener or the article makes no mention of digital or biometric technology? Do we really want to start tracking people like this?
https://www.thenewhumanitarian.org/news/2020/04/15/id2020-coronavirus-vaccine-misinformation"Is there anything to it?
The accusations against ID2020 are clearly false but, as with much misinformation, grains of truth in the conspiracy theory are being spun into the bigger lie. A couple of examples:
A recent experimental study, seized upon by the conspiracists, describes a skin patch used on rats that delivered a vaccine and a “quantum dot” at the same time. The tiny tattoo only becomes visible under a near-infrared light. The authors suggest the technology could be useful “in the developing world” for “intradermal on-person vaccination recordkeeping”. The experiment was partially funded by the Gates Foundation. Its abstract has been viewed tens of thousands of times on a science journal’s website.
Some of the “alt-right” commentary focuses on a “UN plan”: that may refer to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, which include a target to “provide legal identity to all, including birth registration, by 2030”. It makes no mention of digital or biometric technology.
Gruener told TNH she saw ID2020 as collateral damage for conspiracy theorists: “We are part of a bigger vortex.”"

As to left and right, I've found that distinction to be less and less useful over time. People are all over the place with their views, and when it comes down to it, many are just issue-specific.
THat is not to say that there isn't plenty of shit to be smeared around. On the left, there is an assumption about their rightness that borders on religious piety. And many other deficiencies, which include assuming a lot into debate that is in fact quite debatable.
But it is the Alex Jones-esque crowd - many of them in my family and broader social circle - who claim to have access to "fair and unbiased" sources of information that apparently I'm too stupid or limited in my research abilities to find. Again, call them what you will. Right, left, alt, other. I know them when I see them.
