Deaths are overstated. Cases are understated. For those under 60 the chicom crud is less dangerous than the H1NI flu.
The cases always needed context... In some sense they are totally understated for the ones that create no symptoms and required no testing.
In another sense they are overstated due to the cycle count threshold being used in testing but not being reported out in the data. US test is potentially 1000 times more sensitive than the European version, at some point in the sensitivity, the test is just picking up dead cells that are not contagious. FDA declined to have the test provide a non-binary result, even though that result is and was always possible.
Texas is experiencing their most cases daily eVAR! So definitely the sky is falling right?
Let’s look into it. The real-time indicator of an active outbreak is test positivity.
The peak was 2 weeks ago and was 2/3 the level of the peak in early July.
So why so many cases? Because we have 2.5x the testing now as we had in early July
So .6 x 2.5 = 1.5 x volume cases
But the hospitals are overrun!!!!
Three regions in west Texas are suffering, El Paso, Lubbock, Amarillo and they weren’t really part of the July outbreak. The rest of the state is holding and is almost inverse the July outbreak. Houston and Austin hospitals are 6% and 4% covid respectively. All others are below the 15% threshold to start triggering restrictions.
Thankfully Greg Abbott is seeing this as well and refusing to entertain any lockdown talk.

Any government employee saying they’re doing their job while shitting on the law needs to STFU
I’m thinking two weeks, 3 weeks tops
Death rate continues to drop. Now at 2% in the US.
263,899 deaths, 12,786,174 cases
Same in California and the county I live in.

Poasting late at night after a long day of drinking is not the best idea, perhaps.
Naaaaaah. I still like calling people morons, rightly or wrongly.
