One year Demonrat governor of Kalifornia swiped 44 billion from my police pension fund to balance the state budget. When a republican governor was in next he paid it back and the demonrats were lived scream and gnashing of teeth ensued. Threats the usual bullshit. A ballot measure voted in by the voters now prevents a governor from stealing from the pension fund again. -

I should say they could make more. Performance based pay scale would change the game in teaching. They'd have the money by dumping the massive supervisory load. I also say schools should be a choice. Let parents take their tax money to the school of their choice. Parents would have control back. Take a look at the American school system in the early 1960s. There was no federal education bureaucracy (Department of Education) which mandates negative education along with massive amounts of paperwork required by local school districts. Want to have a quiet classroom free from disruptive behavior? Nope, that is racist and so discipline is restricted. If you had a bad teacher, they could get fired. Hundreds of billions of dollars later it is now 2021 and the last priority of the current federal and state of Oregon mandated education is actually educating our children. The top priority is a pipeline of cash to administrators and bad teachers and indoctrination of the kids. Math is now racist. AP programs for the best and brightest are cancelled.Sledog said:

And parents that supported discipline. If I got in trouble at school, the principal was the least of my problems. Today, even in the suburbs parents expect very little out of their kids.
