It has totally remade and divided society. It has given permanent majorities to single party rule in many areas. It has shredded liberty, and brought about harsh censorship of all but the "right ideology." That ideology being one of state power to enforce its' science on everyone, even when competing science exists. It's been a great 18 months. For progressives. For all the rest of us it has sucked. I honestly had kind of checked out from being too interested in anything outside my own bubble before this. Was content to live in the eastside burbs where tax payers and sane people seemingly controlled what was happening locally.
That all changed when Inslee canceled golf for a month and a half in the face of zero data or logic to do so and then micromanaged the operations of it for another year plus. It sounds stupid for that to be the issue that woke me up, but it was and I’m sure many others have their own parallel personal example that is just as stupid. Showed that the far away monarchs had only temporarily ceded local control over people’s lives.
