I assume substantially all of those medical personnel who were furloughed are involved in non-covid and otherwise non-essential medical fields. Like all other workers getting the shaft, they need to be looked after accordingly.
Not sure what the alternative is. The only way to keep them employed is to proceed with non-essential medical operations that will only intervere with the covid response and further strain hospital capacity. -
