A couple things I've observed. 1) Many People don't look at the president as a person who represents a branch of the government and sets policy, but someone they would like or not like to be buddies with. Someone they would like to have a beer with. And 2) they tie their identity to who the present is. They see the president as extension and of themselves,MisterEm said:
