But the Obama recovery took 14 quarters, 3 years, to recover the lost GDP. Mr. Reagan’s recovery took half that time, seven quarters, to recover the lost GDP from the 1981-82 recession. Mr. Obama’s recovery took so long to recover the lost GDP because over Mr. Obama’s two terms, real economic growth was less than 2 percent.
Mr. Obama tried to say his recovery was so bad because the recession was so bad. He should study Milton Friedman.

The economy tanked because of years of democrats forcing banks to lend to people who could not afford their payments. Banks covered their asses by being dicks and utilizing high risk loan agreements to people who could not afford the house. Variable loans and 15 year balloon notes killed millions financially. The ripple effect crashed markets all over the world. All these fucked up loans were backed by Dodd, Frank and liberal dem company and their loan guarantees through fannie and freddie. I am no Bush fan but he told them it would crash the market and create massive recession. Frank doubled down and actually lectured Americans and congress about how they should be providing more risky loans not less. Our buddy Schumer was a BIG proponent of tax payer backed risky loans and pushed for even more risk.
I get that the press and lying libs on here like to lie about what really happened but the recession could have been avoided if not for the democrats wanting to keep fannie and freddie when a third grader could have told them it was going to fail.
There were many democrats who got super wealthy by stealing from the tax payers. The leadership of fannie and freddie were actually spending money on democrat campaigns FFS.
Watch these clips. What you will see is a bunch of liberal idiots who not only have no idea what they are talking about, they actually strike out at the experts who knew what they were talking about and were there to warn congress that the impending doom was coming.
In the first clip the real action starts at 4:29 but the run up explains things from a big picture point of view. Play close attention to Rep Manzullo at 6:19. He lists the corrupt bonuses democrats were giving themselves which is why they never wanted it to end.
My favorite part is where the democrat is trying to say that these loans are risk-less. The housing crisis is what put us in the recession. Not Bush. Bush and his admin was the only group since the 80's who even bothered to research and try to fix the problems but in reality the dems were never going to let that happen and by then it was too late. Trillions would be lost and those that could not afford the increase in their payment due to variable rate increases were fucked. Wall Street was heavily invested and as we know that put a bunch out of business. The irony is that they dems now ignore the history, blame Bush, and the tax payer had to bail banks that were too big to fail out once again.
