If Virta Vita isn't at NT, list is dumb. There has not been a defensive lineman for any team in the conference in the last decade who could singlehandedly destroy an offense the way he could. I'm getting a deja vu sensation right now. I'm pretty sure I've typed these exact words here before.
He also has Ty Montgomery at return specialist when Ross and Pettis exist. I guess because each only did one or the other and Montgomery did both?
And Scooby Wright at linebacker? Might as well have put Evan Weaver or BBK. All of these guys were hyper efficient volume monsters, but none are the guy you'd want to put in the middle of your defense and make the other team want to go home. Prime Victor? Vontaze Burfict (with the right coaching to tame the personal fouls...)? Hell, Trent Murphy isn't even the best Stanford linebacker of the decade, let alone overall. And I know this is sacrilege around here, and maybe with the right coaching/scheme this wouldn't be the case, but Shaq Thompson wasn't that great at linebacker in college. Great for game-changing, athletic plays, but not a super efficient guy who offenses needed to scheme around. Hyper talented athlete, but better college running back than linebacker.
Ekpre-Olomu and Adoree Jackson? Dafuq outta here. There are probably four PAC-12 corners who played this year that I'd take over either. Definitely Murphy last year.
Deone Bucanon was good, but come on, Man, this is an all-decade team. Seems like something to appease the Coug readers.
Can't believe I spent my morning coffee on this. Wilner and I are still cool, though (we hang out and have beers like Pup and Lake). I have to give it to him for calling the Bay Area bloodbath this season...

Virta was 2nd team all decade on his list.
The disrespect is unreal (and I didn't read that far).
The stones on a glorified beat writer naming an all decade team. Does Jon Wilner even have a blue check mark? Fuck outta here.
Like him or not, he’s the dean of PAC 12 sports writers.
I’m mostly down with Jonnie’s material but his picks were clearly NHBE
Wilner usually tends to be right. He's correctly predicted most of our losses the past few years inc Stanford last year and Cal this year. I remember at the start of the season he said Washington had plateaued and I though fuck off, Jon. He was right.

He called Pete’s downfall
He said Pete could corch at UW as long as he wanted. But was correct in predicting that we had stagnated. For the most part, Wilner seems to be pretty objective.

He saw that Pete lost some games that he should have not and probably figured he lost his touch. Which he did
By what metric is Gaskin > Freeman? It's not TDs, or yards, or yards per carry, or receptions, or yards per reception. He's the fucking all time rushing TD leader in conference history and people are surprised he made the list? If there's an Oregon back to leave off it's James, who only played 2 years in the decade.

Wilner said he didn’t look at single year contributions but I felt there were 1-2 lazy picks that fit the category and he picked them anyway.
Oh well.
That's the Pete era summed up right there. Is this observation ok for me to make @Downey_41 or am I shit talking Pete like a beta cuck?
