A growing number of polls show that President Trump is gaining the support of black voters above what any Republican president has ever received. Both Emerson Polling and Rasmussen Reports have it at about 34%, a stunning number.
These numbers put every industrial mid and upper mid west state in play, along with Penn and an outside shot on Illinois.
Minn, Mich, Wisc. Ohio would all be locks if these numbers are accurate.

What we learned from the polls were that people had a different voting preference publicly than they actually had privately. Dubya had approval ratings in the 40's among AA voters in 01-02 but still only received 11% of their votes in '04. Since 84 the avg share of the AA vote for a GOP candidate has been 9% - slightly higher than Trump received in '16.
Gallup has him currently at 10% among AAs which seems a helluva lot closer to reality... -
