Seattle has turned into a cesspool. More rats trying to hurt those that make investments in our economy.
If a property owner doesn't get paid for 6 months they can lose their investment. This socialist idiot clearly does not care. -

Forget losing the investment
The left wants them hanged -
This is so beyond retarded. So I guess I won't have to pay my property taxes for those months the tenant doesn't make their payments.
Jeezus, Seattle, you deserve every fucking thing you get. Idiots. -
Why isn't the city of Seattle playing the tent?
-
3 months no rent and then they declare squatters rights and it drags on for what, another 2+ months? Cool plan.
-
Fake the terms of the lease, damage the property and claim you are withholding rent bc the property isn't up to code, and it becomes a civil matter. It takes about a year to resolve and by then you've found the next place to do it to. It's become a business down here in California.ThomasFremont said:3 months no rent and then they declare squatters rights and it drags on for what, another 2+ months? Cool plan.

Aren't you all in on this comrade? I'm surprised at your opposition. Too much greed still in you. Maybe a little reeducation camp time will fix that. I'll let Nancy know of your deviation from the party line.ThomasFremont said:3 months no rent and then they declare squatters rights and it drags on for what, another 2+ months? Cool plan.

I did foreclosure auctions when I first came down here and part of it was to get the tenant or owner out after the sale. We were supposed to use this sliding scale of cash for keys amounts. So I'm meeting people at the worst time of their life as they lose their home or worse, renters who paid rent to a fake owner or to an owner that got foreclosed anyway.
The renters had more time but I would offer the max regardless of time and tell them it will never get better than that.
The sheriff will show up and throw all your shit in the street. Maybe not tomorrow but it always ends that way. Most people got it but I did get a taste of how a renter could scam the system for a about a year paying nothing.

The City makes a big deal about "Wage Theft" then proposes shit like this.
Passive Income, Bad. Burger Flipping, Good. Who can't see where Seattle is headed? -
Imagine being so dumb that you think anyone that doesn’t like Donald fucking Trump is a communist.Sledog said:

Tell us more about your “military like” oath... -
It's almost like this moronic, shitty CC professor thinks we have a caste system here in the US. This is not India. If you show up to work on time and do your job, you can have a pretty decent standard of living. Fuck off with the livable wage bull shit.

And a heroin habit costs more than rent on a 1 BR apartment. This has nothing to do with Trump but everything to do with the attempted coup and all that surrounds it.
Trump was not my choice. Doesn't mean I'm going to be quiet while this illegal Shit goes on.
Unlike you I'd never support it even if the other side were in the oval office. -
Exhibit A of why Seattle's homeless crisis has nothing to do with cost of living. Dick's pays $17.50 and hour to start with full medical and a host of other benefits.TurdBomber said:

Same oath as that military sparky. Minus obeying superiors yada yada yada. Uphold and defend. Something you could care less about.

It's foreign to me that people have the mindset that they are so morally superior that they think they have the authority to mandate what people do with their property.

It’s still illegal in WA state to grow your own marijuana...but you can buy it marked up at a state licensed store no problem!MikeDamone said:It's foreign to me that people have the mindset that they are so morally superior that they think they have the authority to mandate what people do with their property.

They held this issue until January so that Sawant can get more of her people in there. Morales is coming in as a socialist, too. Herbold is on board with this stuff because she hates property owners (even though she and her husband own two properties - fun fact, Herbold doesn't live in Seattle, she lives in North Bend). Mosqueda will vote for this because she hates landlords because one time when she was a kid her landlord evicted her mom because she couldn't pay rent. I could go on and on.HHusky said:

That's 4 votes, and the rest will fall in line because they're scared of being branded as anti-renter and anti-homeless. There's a reason why everything passes 9 - 0 down there at city hall (unless Sawant votes against the other 8). -
Maybe. It will be struck down in court if that happens.BleachedAnusDawg said:

Been paying attention to the other anti-landlord laws that the city has passed the past 3 years? Lots of lawsuits, and the courts have been upholding the city's laws, including overturning lower court rulings against the city.HHusky said:

Inslee's Supreme Court Appointees are terrible across the board. Pretty much need to get outside the 9th Circuit to get a fair shot at anything close to justice.BleachedAnusDawg said:

I’m aware of the recent Seattle ordinances. That said, this proposal takes unconstitutional to a new level. It would be struck down if enacted imo.BleachedAnusDawg said:
