When is HH getting a private jet?
-
Wow. That was fascinating seeing what goes on in the cockpit during an entire flight. I was a little overwhelmed by trying to listen to what was being said by the pilot and the chatter on the radio.
Thank you for sharing Derek. Very educational! -

We used to have a Piper Cherokee 180 in the family. One of my dads was an instrument rated pilot, and we'd fly IFR from time to time. It's strange to look out the windows and see nothing - just flying the instruments. I can't say I enjoyed flying when it was IFR - especially if there was any chance of ice. That TBM-850 has a shit-load of modern avionics including full weather radar, so that makes it a little easier to deal with fucked up weather than in our little Piper. I used to dig flying - big planes, small planes, whatever - but I don't fly much any more. Commercial flying has become a drag and none of my buddies have planes these days.
I flew in here once - it made my butt pucker pretty tight. http://www.shortfield.com/community/64-chrisg/videos/video/176-dewey-moore
This strip doesn't look like much, but going in and out of here is pretty butt clenching, too -http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mr8hdrGN0sE
Not carrier landing at night butt clenching, but still. -
There are a bunch of videos of airplanes landing at and taking off from Courchevel. I picked these two. The first one is a little too long for my taste, but I really like it for the scenery.

This second one is short and sweet - Pilatus PC-12 landing. I like hearing the prop go into beta.https://youtu.be/6pK9uqF4y7c

Of course, nothing really beats a Twin Otter landing at Lukla.

I'll never get tired of hearing props going into beta. That growl is just awesome. -

Am I the only one who is a little disturbed by the amount of flight videos you have bookmarked?
