Grand Pappy Captain Yella came back from WWII with a whole lot of PTSD. He therapy was a 5th of Cutty Sark basically every day from 1945- 1965. He was TUFF as nails but dead by age 59 in 1980. I drank some Cutty for the first time a few years back...let's just say it's not @PurpleBaze level Islay Scotch.

Not to go totally off-topic here, but I've been experimenting with blending whiskies, a la Ralfy. I've been using Jameson as the base and adding a teaspoon of Laphroaig 10 or Kilchoman to it. That man definitely knows what the fuck he's talking about. You can enjoy the Islay peated Scotch flavor on a budget this way. Scotch drinking for the pours...

People forget that Islay whiskies weren't originally intended to be single malts. Rather, they were bought up by the blended whisky outfits of the day to add some smoke.
