Communism isn't all bad, if one can eliminate some key attributes of humanity.YellowSnow said:Communism isn't all bad. I think one can make an argument that the world would be a better place today if Deng had stuck with the Maoist economic plan instead embracing economic reforms.

That's really the problem with a communist state. In order for communism to work, some innate aspects of human behavior must be changed or suppressed. Because those things are innate, the measures to change them must be strongly coercive. -
Sounds like someone has some sweet talking points from a communist professor.RaceBannon said:

Agree. Communism can never work on a nation state scale because it goes against human nature.GrundleStiltzkin said:

China today isn't a REAL communist state anyhow. Rather, it falls more into the Fascist One Party Dictatorship and Mercantilist buckets. -
China is kind of the worst of both worlds at this point. They are seeing the problem of being a little pregnant with Hong Kong. Who remains the virus that will bring them downYellowSnow said:

I'm sure our elites are scared to death at the prospect of another revolution in China -
To add: The natural political progression means those most willing and able to exert coercive power will rise to positions of power.YellowSnow said:
