The U.S. deficit hit $984 billion in 2019, soaring during Trump era Spending increases, tax cuts, and political apathy fueled surge, and interest payments now near $400 billion

The country’s worsening fiscal picture runs in sharp contrast to President Trump’s campaign promise to eliminate the federal debt within eight years.

Promises made, promises kept. Oh wait...

    Nice crocodile tears as always.

Where were you on this issue prior to Jan '17? That's what I thought.
I was opposing tax cuts and happy to see modest tax increases enacted. Thanks for asking.
LOL! Oh and I am so sure you democrats would have spent less and paid down the debt right? LOL!
Maybe you gals can explain how one spends less while asking government to do more.
The first step is to neuter the public unions

    Amiright?
Cool. You saved what? $50 million? $100 million? Of the federal budget. Next idea to actually cut spending?
    Military, social security....
Agreed on military. Let's do it. How do you plan to cut social security when that's a large voter block?
You asked what I would cut. I told you.

We should cut spending by adding 50 trillion dollars of new spending

Obama only nearly doubled the debt (trigger) lets triple it

Race likes to ignore the cost savings and additional revenues in lieu of insurance and out of pocket.
Will we all save $2500 a year.

I’m sure when when the government takes it over the cost savings will flow.

When SS was started avg life expectancy was 58 and you didn’t start receiving benefits until 65. Now avg life expectancy is 79 and you can start receiving benefits at 62...

    Something needs to change...
It's funny, everyone likes to bitch about cutting spending. But no one really wants to do it. Even food stamps, many people on food stamps are Republican. Only thing I can think on SS is cutting benefits from people who have a lot of income.

Tulsi words, please, HondoBros Weasel. Let's see them. You swore you had them, so produce, weasel.
You'll never get an answer. Scotty is pure Kunt.
Oh he got the answer. Multiple times. His ego is so fragile that he couldn’t handle the answer given. Nice of you to...what’s your term...tongue his asshole?
Naaah, I just know you to be the lying Kunt you are Scotty. Can we call it a transcript again Scotty? Materially how did the "edits" change the transcript Scotty? Did the DNI chief threaten to quit?
The Document is titled memorandum not transcript probably due to the fact it’s not meant to be a verbatim transcript as noted on the first page. I don’t know if the DNI threatened to quit but even if he did, as long as he wanted to remain in his position, you and I both know he had to deny the story.

What else would you like to discuss in this thread about deficits?
No one but you it appears ever claimed it was a verbatim transcript.

You asked what I would cut. I told you.
How would you cut SS Mike?
Same way as cutting military spending. With a law and a budget.

    Are you intentionally playing dumb?
Gee dumbfuck, that’s how spending is done. Laws and budgets. Change the fucking law. Unless you don’t want to solve the problem.

Ok Mike. I'll play your idiotic game. What spending would you cut from SS?

The U.S. deficit hit $984 billion in 2019, soaring during Trump era Spending increases, tax cuts, and political apathy fueled surge, and interest payments now near $400 billion

I told you.

Too many people that don't belong. Social security is for a lot more than retirement and it's being abused. Old Octomom pulled in 2,200.00 per kid per month from SS. Claimed they had some type of disability. There's all kinds of abuse/fraud in all government programs. Many billions per year.

    Raise the “retirement” age
Yeah and that's been done before.
yet the ratio of beneficiaries to covered workers continues to decline.

Exactly. Part of it is boomers retiring. And partly because low labor participation rates.

Cool. You saved what? $50 million? $100 million? Of the federal budget. Next idea to actually cut spending?
    Military, social security....
Agreed on military. Let's do it. How do you plan to cut social security when that's a large voter block?
You asked what I would cut. I told you.
How would you cut SS Mike?
Same way as cutting military spending. With a law and a budget.

    Are you intentionally playing dumb?

The U.S. deficit hit $984 billion in 2019, soaring during Trump era Spending increases, tax cuts, and political apathy fueled surge, and interest payments now near $400 billion

    Amiright?

Gee dumbfuck, that’s how spending is done. Laws and budgets. Change the fucking law. Unless you don’t want to solve the problem.

Ok Mike. I'll play your idiotic game. What spending would you cut from SS?
    Retirement
Wonder why you are dodging the question. Mike.
I answered. I’d cut retirement out of SS.

    fuckwit
So just end the entire program. Yeah that'll go over well.
