I was hoping you wouldn't comment. Yet you did.

Yes, beat shitty team lose to shitty team, lose to Lakers.

Laker bench scored 70 last night. Blazer bench scored 30 at most.

Really it's not fair to Melo and Dame and CJ to have no depth like this.

I said GM Bro needs to embrace LA and get the fuck out of SW WA/PDX and LEAVE.

Carmelo has a -3.8 box +/-. He’s probably one of the worst starters in the NBA. Playing him, CJ, and Dame together is a huge liability on defense. All three are some of the worst defenders in the league.

As bad as the Blazers are, they are currently the 8 seed and the only team that is below them that will start playing better is San Antonio.

Basically, it will be a battle between Portland and SA for the 8 seed. OKC is overachieving a little bit, but they will probably remain solid. They have a good culture there and despite getting rid of Westbrook and Paul George, they have decent talent. They actually fleeced the Clippers in a way for Paul George. The Clippers had to do it to get Kawaii, but the deal was still way better for OKC. Gilgeous-Alexander is a really good young player and they got 5 first round picks.

They are plenty of other Blazers that qualify more to be the worst starter in the league. Melo's not really deserving of the criticism when him, Dame, and Whiteside are trying to hold a terrible overall roster together while CJ goes hot and cold. It's a really shitty situation with the injuries and GMBro offseason flops.

Yeah, they're shit on D. That's on GMBro for not replacing any of the defense from last year. Bazemore and the other pickups have been a joke.

No Melo is absolutely deserving of the criticism he is abhorrently awful. One of the most overrated players in NBA history

    Abhorrently awful?

Pretty sure that forcing 5 players (including Melo) to play nearly every minute of every game in an 82 game season is undeniably unsustainable

And the moves made by the GM to set this season up should be considered frustratingly firable.

In any case Blazers just lost to the Suns at home.

Nothing done in the off-season was done for success in ‘19-‘20. They simply offloaded guys like Leonard, Harkless and Aminu that they would have had to extend to get Bazemore and Whiteside’s expiring contracts. So at the deadline, they will acquire picks and maybe a mid level exception to sign if they want to keep him, for Baze and Whiteside.

But it all still leads to the fact that Portland can’t attract even 2nd tier FA’s. So they will need to make trades in the off season to try to get Better with a decent 3rd scorer and quality bench players. That’s as good as it gets.

Those are some good points. However if the team is sniffing a playoff spot history says GMBro will make moves like they're a contender. Maybe with Allen dead that will change.

Only chance to ever do something is blow it up. The Blazers were never built to be a true contender. Lillard and McCollum are both very good players, but should not be on the same team.

The Blazers aren’t in a spot to get rid of any good players tho because they can’t attract free agents. The best move really might be to trade both, bottom out, and start over. If a title is your goal, that’s the only way it could ever happen. If you’re happy with 5 -8 seeds and maybe winning a round, you can tweak the current team and maybe do that in the next couple of years.

This is the entire NBA. It's a superstar league. If you don't have at least two you should give up and tank.

We've seen this team in the playoffs with Dame, CJ, and Nurk once. I think they should trade Dame because you get the most value for him. Trade Whiteside and baze for some picks and see what the team looks like with CJ, Nurk, Collins, Hood, hopefully some good piece(s) for Dame and Simon's going forward. At least they would be more balanced.

Blazers will never bottom out again after they had so many busts/#1 picks retire due to injury.

Depends if they are max guys or not. If you have two max stars and are near the bottom of the playoff bracket, it’s probably time to blow it up. Portland fits that. You’re not winning with that bad of defense at both your guard spots. You can’t hide two guys.

Dallas only has one superstar but definitely should not tank. Porzingis is good but it’s not looking like he will ever be a superstar. Milwaukee has one and is leading the East. Houston has really only had one with Harden and shouldn’t tank either.

The formula does call for two top 10 players tho. Only in rare instances has that not been the case.

That's what I'm saying. Max contract doesn't mean superstar in today's game.

It's possible to win with only one superstar, but they have to be a generational talent like LeBron. Maybe the Mavs hit that jackpot with Doncic again like they did with Dirk. Antemotokonpopokmmbbfhpoooooo could also be that good.

Greek Freak is the best player in the league. He’s dominant. Not a very good shooter, but the Bucks did a good job of surrounding him with shooters.

Lillard with 61. Against the hapless Warriors and they needed OT to win, but still.

Yeah, when you consider it was Dame against their whole team with Whiteside getting a few boards and shielding warrior knees with his balls, it was an entertaining game.

A lot of games played in a short amount of time, getting a rest here with only 2 games in the next 8 days and Ariza. I think 2 games back from a playoff spot now.

This is a great roster if it's 2015 and the games only last 2 quarters.
