The only team I remember running right at Psalm was Alabama in the playoff game.FirePete said:RoadDawg55 said:
Psalm was quite a bit better. He deserved shit for the person he was, but he really wasn’t terrible as a player. Not good either and you would hope we could do better, but he wasn’t a complete liability like some of the guys now. Same with O’Brien.FirePete said:
coach k deserves a medal for what he did with psalm. He was many level terrible, but somewhat competent at times and I hated that fucker. Now you have 2 players like Wellington and Manu that are so much worse than psalm. Let that sink in. So patheticsonics1993 said:
Agree completely but I have yet to hear anything about his job but I really hope Pete makes a change this off season. I kinda get missing on Jordan to Notre Dame but to get beat by Wisconsin on a LB from Hawaii that was a slam dunk to us is inexcusable. If coach K can step up his recruiting game then Bob should be expected to as well.guntlove said:

My name's Robert Gregory and I coach inside linebackers here at the University of Washington. I trotted out two starters this year, Brandon Wellington and Kyler Manu... whom I scouted, recruited, and coached for four & five years respectively. Both are generationally bad. I'm not being hyperbolic here, fellas... they are legitimately the two worst inside linebackers to have played at the University of Washington in twenty years.
Before these two gents, I coached Azeem Victor and Keishawn Bierria.... they both regressed their senior years under my tutelage. Additionally, I'm such a recruiting liability that I have literally ZERO players in the sophomore and junior classes at ILB. Nobody. Not a single fucking guy.
In the redshirt freshman class, I have Peter Sirmon... whom after a couple of springs and two seasons appears to be as useless as tits on a nun.... then MJ Tafisi, who seems to have some tools, but lacks the high-end athleticism to ever be an all PAC-12 LB.
Next year, thanks to my staggering incompetence, our defense will essentially be dependent on a bunch of redshirt-freshman ILBs who have never played a single down of college football in their fucking lives.... so the future is bright! Also... last year I oversaw one of the worst special teams units in the entire country.
And, just to get you guys totally caught up.... this year in recruiting, I couldn't even get visits from the two top ILB recruits on the west coast (Nate Herbig and Jordan Bothello). So I settled on some fucking stiff from Texas, and a lightly recruited legacy from Washington. I like where we're trending!!
Anyways, the bottom line is this.... I coached Ben Burr-Kirven. And he was really good his junior and senior year. So that basically means that from now until the end of time, no matter how much of a worthless piece of shit I am, I will always have a job here at UW! Go Dwags!!
dude he was pretty solid, he was never like the world beater. but he did play were he was disciplined. i dont recall team just running at him because they knew he was srub like our two current ILBRoadDawg55 said:

I think of Psalm as just a brain fart with athletic ability. Wellington is a dyslexic dropout with talent that is wasted. Manu, talent wise, is a pile of trash that doesn't belong on Western's roster.

Western got rid of their team just so Manu couldn't play for them

Try worst LBs in 5 decades, not just the last 2 decades. Right now they’re the worst LB duo on the west coast in the P5 conferences, and it’s not even close.sonics1993 said:

It’s pretty sad that even the Ty and Gilby teams had better LB’s than we have now. Manu and Sirmon would have fit in perfectly on those teams.

All of them are way better, even Scott White and an always overrated E.J. Savannah.Baseman said:

Another raw deal -
He’s a big reason UW had the famous Holiday Bowl win in 2010. That defense was trash without him. They fell off a cliff in 2011.RaceBannon said:

He made a lot of tackles for bad teams. Not really sure if he was good or not. He’s definitely better than Manu or Sirmon, but still.Baseman said:

We? could justify begging back Sean Constantine and Scott Lawyer at this point
-
Mathew Lyons?

Constantine and Lawyer would rotate in at the beginning of the season in 2015 and they opponent would match down the field. Then Victor and Bierria would come back in and shut them down. -

Late to the conversation, but if we had mason foster and donald butler on this team we'd win a natty, really don't get the respect they deserve due to their shitty teams
-
Agree. Can you imagine having two NFL sized ILBs who can run, tackle, blitz, and cover? Put those two guys on this team as juniors or seniors and the defense at least would be competitive at that level.bigcc said:Late to the conversation, but if we had mason foster and donald butler on this team we'd win a natty, really don't get the respect they deserve due to their shitty teams
Christ I think Scott White and Evan Benjamin would be enough of an improvement to have UW undefeated or perhaps at one loss right now. This is the worst LB play I've ever seen at UW. That seems impossible after surviving the Rick, Gilby, and Ty years but they all had better LB play than the current team. -
2011 with Dennison, freshman Timu, and sophomore Fuiamano was close to as bad. That was a really bad group.chuck said:

@sonics1993 - Again TYFYS.
- When is Petersen going to bring in @Dennis_DeYoung to give the team a speech on mental toughness?
- % Jacobe Covington jumps back into the boat? Biggins recently put in a CB for him.
- Is Lance Keneley waiting for his acceptance letter from Stanford? Will he visit us in December regardless?
- What coaches would you personally cut ties with?
- Your % Eason comes back? I am at 75% from an original 20% in the preseason.
- Will Manu or Baccellia get booed more on Senior Day?
- Will Jeff Choate be adding Gilchrist, Pleasant, Soderberg and Rice to his prized 2020 recruiting class?
- Are the Huskies really kicking the tires on Theo Howard?
- Why did Will Latu push his commitment date back? Is he still a Husky lean?
- I haven't been over to Doogman in awhile. Are those guys still batting a 1.000?
- Who does Petersen despise more? Softy or The Guys from Dawgman.com?
- Is Quinten Pounds idol Prince?
- UCLA is trending for Damien Sellers. If grades are the issue, how can UCLA get him in school and not UW? -
- Yeah that was embarrassing and hopefully he learns from thatKrunkJuice said:@sonics1993 - Again TYFYS.

- 95%
- Coach K has done a great job with him and he will visit, just waiting for playoffs to end and then they will pick a date.
- Bob and Bush. Yes, Pete's scheme is outdated and he is the main problem but Bush has no feel as a playcaller and is often outsmarted. Bob brings nothing to the table and no way should he be making 550k.
- 50-50, don't think he will get favorable views from NFL scouts but don't know his feeling about staying in school for anthor year with a new OL
- I would hope not, they work hard and give all they got. It's on the coaches for not recruiting better talent, not on them.
- Wouldn't surprise me
- Had conversations but nothing serious
- He is a husky lean but right now he's not a take. He had a very sub-par junior year and has a lot to prove.
- No clue, don't visit that site anymore though I was told Scott put in his blog that Jacobe was very solid and fans were "making a big deal out of nothing" and then the next day Jacobe decommited.
- Dawgman
- No clue
- 1. UCLA is desperate, 2. His grade have improved to borderline, 3. He has other off the field issues that have made schools back off
