ICE viewed more favorably than Omar: Poll

A recent Economist/YouGov online survey found that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement is more popular than “The Squad,” the nickname given to four progressive minority women in Congress that have frequently sparred with President Trump.

The poll taken July 14-16 revealed 42 percent of respondents said they have either a “very favorable” or “somewhat favorable” opinion of ICE, while the positive responses for Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Rashida Tlaib of Michigan, Ilhan Omar of Minnesota and Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts weren’t as high.

Out of the respondents who had either a “very favorable” or “somewhat favorable” view of “The Squad,” Ms. Ocasio-Cortez fared best, coming in at 33 percent.

Twenty-five percent of respondents had a positive view of Rep. Omar, 24 percent for Ms. Tlaib and 22 percent for Ms. Pressley.

I think saying she had a fued with Trump is misleading. He picked her out as the most realistic candidate of the far left to try to conflate with the moderate centrists. His goal is to conflate and defame by blowing her actions way out of proportion hoping the public buys his false and cynical view. No fued here.. it's bully and target.

I love the irony of people who will call anyone a nazi/hitler who doesn’t suck the far lefts dick then praising someone who hates Jews.

Omar is simply representing her constituency, who also want Israel thrown into unquenchable fire.

This is cherry picking. ICE has a higher unfavorable number than all of them.

On a personal note, AOC has a 33% favorable vs 41 unfavorable. Pelosi is 36/48. McConnell is 23/49. Kevin McCarthy (no one even knows who the fuck he is) has 21/31. And Schumer is 30/44. This narrative of how she’s so unpopular is ridiculous in context.

But since this poll means something let’s take a looksie.

    Green New Deal-
    34% support
    31% oppose

And republicans, the most likely to oppose it, have the lowest “not sure” number. That’s a solid win.

    Abolish ICE-
    33% support
    43% oppose

A nice little win for you guys, unfortunately, republicans again have the lowest not sure numbers. That number is getting very close. Independents have a huge not sure number (35%) and are more likely to support.

    Medicare For All- (uh oh)
    52% support
    33% oppose

Here democrats have the lowest not sure number, it is close though (9% vs 12%). Independents have a big not sure number, 20%, and they are likely to support it.

    Family separation-
    32% approve
    55% disapprove

This has a similar make up as the M4A. Dems lowest but close, independents with a big number but more likely to disapprove.

It’s beginning to look a lot like socialism...eeeeeeeeeeereeeeeeeverywhere you go.

Yes those 50 people who showed up at the airport embarrassed the other 5,610,950 Minnesotans who stayed as far away from her as possible.

I realize we are discussing this on-line polling data in this thread and of course that is fine but for anyone interested, on-line polling data is by far the most flawed method of collection. It should never ever be a trusted source of information for any political party or perspective. We use a polling service that only polls our industry prospects and customers. It is ok for that but if you are looking for political positions forget it.

It’s amazing how widely accepted this insane rumor has become in conservative politics. I guess it doesn’t matter that her husband is 3 years younger than her and Ilhan’s mother died when she was 2. Or that the origination of the smear came from a random message board.

But please keep telling us how much you all care about the truth.

Got to love going through life with your head up your ass in order to not have to look at things that make your snatch sore.

New investigative documents released by a state agency have given fresh life to lingering questions about the marital history of Rep. Ilhan Omar and whether she once married a man — possibly her own brother — to skirt immigration laws.

Omar has denied the allegations in the past, dismissing them as “baseless rumors” first raised in an online Somali politics forum and championed by conservative bloggers during her 2016 campaign for the Minnesota House. But she said little then or since about Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, the former husband who swept into her life in 2009 before a 2011 separation.

The questions surfaced again this month in a state probe of campaign finance violations showing that Omar filed federal taxes in 2014 and 2015 with her current husband, Ahmed Hirsi, while she was still legally married to but separated from Elmi.

There's more evidence she committed tax fraud and married her brother than there is that Trump colluded with the Russians.
