Per Eklund, Bowers is "visiting" Georgia soon and then "visiting" Washington before making a decision.
In this case "visiting" means flying to the city with his family and getting a list of fun things to do from the coaches but not actually meeting with them or stepping on campus.
Why do I get the feeling one school will follow this to the letter of the law and one will not
Because one of them cares about winning and the other cares about continuity?
Ektard actually brought up a good point this week. When Bowers visits, the coaches aren't allowed to meet him in person but there's nothing preventing him from meeting up with local UW commits since those guys aren't officially part of the program yet. Send Sam, Jabez, Jumper, Latu, Prentice, etc to Montlake to "host" Brock during his unofficial visit. I'd have way higher faith in those guys closing Brock than Cato.

Sleepover at Sam's house?
I like how we get away with having recruits stay at a booster’s house.

I could only hope. Would be the easiest NCAA violation ever.
Even though a recruiting dead period exists through the end of August, Georgia got a top target on campus this weekend. Napa (Calif.) Top 100 tight end Brock Bowers made the trip across the country on his family's own dime to tour Athens on their own, without any interaction with the Dawgs' coaching staff.
"We got to hang out with Brock Vandergriff and Chaz Chambliss for a little bit," Bowers said. "We had breakfast with them and then we had a campus tour by ourselves. We would talk and Facetime with Coach Hartley as kind of our tour guide. It was good to drive around and cool of him to do that for us and explain everything to us. We got to hang out around Athens for two days and it was good. It was good to talk to them and get to know them."
The 6-foot-3, 225-pound tight end also connected with a couple of current players over the phone and in person.
"I spoke with Ryland Goede for a little bit," Bowers said. "I also texted with JD Daniels, Tre' McKitty, and John Fitzpatrick and saw them around a little bit."
Following that time in Athens, Bowers, the nation's No. 93 prospect, No. 3 tight end, and No. 10 overall recruit in Califonia per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite, says he spent time at the Vandagriff household while Brock Vandagriff was with his grandparents.
"We spent time with his mom, his dad, and his sister's tonight right before we left for Atlanta," Vandagriff said. "It was good to spend time with them and they seem like really good people."
The Bulldogs' coaching staff has honed in on Bowers as their priority at tight end and they reiterated that before he left.
"They said how I was a piece of the puzzle they need and that they want me at Georgia," Bowers said. "It was really important to refresh my memory of Georgia and have that to base off of with my decision."
"I really like the people at Georgia and they are up there," Bowers said. "The recruits I am going in with, just talking with them, they are great. All the coaches are great as well and I love the current players there too. It is the SEC and the players that I am coming in with and the coaches are amazing."
Bowers says he has an idea of which way he is leaning but has another visit at the end of this month.
"It is just kind of Georgia I guess, and Washington, kind of those two," Bowers said. "I have not seen the Washington campus so it would be cool to see them because they throw to the tight ends a lot with how they used Hunter Bryant," Bowers said. "I would like to announce before the season
"I dropped by Sam Huard's place to visit and they seem like really good people ... I even brought my sleeping bag and we stayed up late, made s'mores and Emeka showed up ... JTT came over for breakfast ... it was a good visit ..."
Sounds like he's still leaving the door open for us if the UW visit goes well. Gotta think Seattle would be more comfortable in July than Athens, GA for a Bay Area kid. Go get em Sam.
This kid is by far the best of the TE group we offered in this class. If Cato somehow pulls this off, that's a damn good sign for his future as a recruiter

This would be the equivalent of Malloe landing Tuli and Taki after getting punked for Togiai and Marlon. Could be the turning point for him as a recruiter.

UGA has a strip club/brothel across the street from the campus, Toppers, ask about it. That’s the easy work. Athens is an easy sell. Cato is a try hard and try hards can win every know and again.

Hmm didn’t seem too excited about it.

he's a "lucky first day motherfucker!"
Bowers referenced UW throwing the ball to Hunter etc ... Cato wasn't involved in that. The system did that. Hell, it was PaoPao before him.
Bowers isn't ignorant to the fact that less-than-hyped TE's from Washington have been drafted highly recently too. Dissly and Sample ...
Along with a sleepover at Huard's house and a decent tour of UW and Washington has a good shot.
What it does is give Cato something to build upon ...
