How does a gigantic dude with offers from Oregon, Tennessee, and both Arizona schools wind up at a community college in Utah? There's gotta be a story here.

I watched the Bethel v HuardSmalls High game which is the extent of my research but Latu stood out to me bigtime1to392831weretaken said:How does a gigantic dude with offers from Oregon, Tennessee, and both Arizona schools wind up at a community college in Utah? There's gotta be a story here.

It’s been highly talked about that he has major grades issues.1to392831weretaken said:How does a gigantic dude with offers from Oregon, Tennessee, and both Arizona schools wind up at a community college in Utah? There's gotta be a story here.

as mentioned previously, and if you truly didn't know, grades didn't pan out ... sounds like he is a 4* for football but he needs serious work in the classroom to be able to play D1.1to392831weretaken said:How does a gigantic dude with offers from Oregon, Tennessee, and both Arizona schools wind up at a community college in Utah? I have seen interviews with players who I'd bet good money couldn't spell more than a handful of three letter words. I'm actually shocked that academic issues of any kind are a barrier to a D1 scholarship at the pointy end.animate said:

I think academis are important but if the guy has NFL potential I don't see how three years on campus is a bad thing

He must have just straight up not tried at all. Or began trying too late once the damage was done.

You would be surprised. I played high school basketball with a fringe D-1 kid that probably read at about a second grade level. He once wrote a paper on my family’s computer that my whole family was astounded how little of a grasp he had of writing. It was like a first grader wrote it.1to392831weretaken said:

There is only so much you can do for some people. They still have to take the tests. You can’t write a perfect paper for them because then it’s obvious they didn’t write it.
